Day 1 · San José
You are met at Juan Santamaría International Airport and driven privately to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Arenal
Day 2 · Arenal
Travel by shared transfer to La Fortuna, at the foot of Arenal Volcano. The afternoon is yours, perhaps for the trail down to La Fortuna Waterfall, which drops about 60 metres into a clear pool.
Day 3 · Arenal
A free day around the volcano. You could walk the 1968 lava flows with a guide, or cross the hanging bridges of a primary forest reserve with views of Arenal.
Monteverde
Day 4 · Monteverde
A shared transfer brings you to Monteverde by about 12.30 pm, leaving the afternoon for one optional outing. A guided walk in the Monteverde reserve reaches the Continental Divide, or the Selvatura hanging bridges take you through the canopy.
Manuel Antonio
Day 5 · Manuel Antonio
Travel on to Manuel Antonio on the central Pacific coast. The rest of the day is free at your hotel, or you can join a two-hour guided night walk in the rainforest.
Day 6 · Manuel Antonio
A free day by the national park and its beaches. Options include a catamaran trip along the coast with snorkelling at Biesanz Bay, or kayaking through the mangroves near Damas Island.
San José
Day 7 · San José
A shared transfer returns you to San José for a last free afternoon and night in Costa Rica.
Day 8 · San José
After breakfast, a private transfer takes you to the airport for your flight home.

Fly into San José and head north to La Fortuna, at the foot of the Arenal Volcano, for two nights of hot springs, a gentle river float and lunch with a local family. Cross Lake Arenal by boat to Monteverde for a guided walk in the cloud forest, then return to the airport on day four.
