Know what a honeymoon package includes

The part of a honeymoon nobody wants to organise is done before you land, so the days belong to the two of you.

  • Your suite: the room you picture, held for your dates, with the view you asked for.
  • Transfers: met at the airport and taken to the door by car, boat or seaplane.
  • Dining: tables at the best restaurants, and one dinner somewhere you will remember.
  • Spa: time at the spa together, booked before you arrive.
  • A private experience: one outing that captures the place, such as a sunset sail or a morning with a guide.
  • Not included: international flights unless you ask us to add them, and anything the resort charges separately, all listed in writing.

Honeymoon the way you travel best

Slow or busy, barefoot or city lights, we plan around how the two of you like to travel.

  • Island and beach

Overwater villas, white sand and nowhere to be, in the Maldives, Fiji or Thailand.

  • Safari

The Serengeti, the Okavango or a lodge an hour from Adelaide, with the plains at sunset.

  • City and culture

The Taj Mahal, the bazaars of Istanbul and Thailand's old kingdoms.

  • Slow Europe

Athens, Meteora and long evenings on Santorini, with time to do very little.

  • Adventure

The hill-country train, leopards in Yala and a beach to finish, in Sri Lanka.

  • Minimoon

A few days away straight after the wedding, with the longer trip saved for later.

Give a honeymoon as a wedding gift

Parents, grandparents and wedding parties often give the honeymoon, or part of it, as their gift. We plan it with you quietly, then hand the couple a trip that is ready to enjoy.

  • Give the whole honeymoon

A complete honeymoon, planned around the couple and handed to them as your gift.

  • Give one part of it

A suite upgrade, a private dinner or a spa day, added to the trip they are already planning.

  • Plan it together

Tell us who is giving, and we plan the gift with all of you.

See how planning with us works

1. Your advisor replies the way you asked: by email or phone, with a few questions about your dates, how long you have and the kind of trip you picture. 2. A first call: twenty minutes about where you are drawn to and how you like to travel. 3. Your shortlist, in writing: two or three resorts or journeys that fit, each with the suite, the transfers, the dinners and what is not included. 4. We hold your dates: once you choose, we secure the suite and the extras, and send every detail in one place. 5. You fly as newlyweds: everything is arranged before you land, and your advisor is a message away until you are home.

Get answers to what honeymooners ask first

How long should a honeymoon be?+
A week to ten nights suits most honeymoons, and a long flight is a good reason to stay longer. Allow at least a week for the Maldives, Africa or Peru, so two days of travel do not eat into the stay. If leave is short after the wedding, a [minimoon](https://weddedwonderland.com/honeymoon-ideas/minimoon) of three or four nights works well, with the longer trip saved for later.
When is the best time to go on a honeymoon?+
It depends on where you go, so start with the month you marry. The Maldives and Phuket are at their best from November to April, Fiji and Bali from about May to October, and Santorini from May to June and September to October. Koh Samui is best from January to August and Da Nang from February to August. [Our month-by-month guides](#see-where-to-go-in-the-month-you-marry) show where to go after a wedding in each month.
Can family give us the honeymoon as a wedding gift?+
Yes. Parents, grandparents or the wedding party often give the whole honeymoon or one part of it, such as a suite upgrade or a private dinner. They plan it with us quietly through [the Wedded Concierge Gift](https://weddedwonderland.com/wonderland-concierge-gift), and we hand you a trip that is ready to enjoy.
Can honeymoon packages start straight after a wedding abroad?+
Yes. Nine of our wedding offers in Bali, Thailand and Da Nang include honeymoon nights, a spa treatment or a dinner for two at the same resort, so the honeymoon starts the morning after. If you would rather move on after the wedding, your advisor plans the transfer to a second resort or the first day of a journey.
What is a minimoon?+
A minimoon is a short trip of a few days straight after the wedding, with the longer honeymoon saved for later. It suits couples with little leave after the wedding, or a longer trip that is at its best in another month. A few nights somewhere close and calm gives you the rest, and [our minimoon ideas](https://weddedwonderland.com/honeymoon-ideas/minimoon) suggest where to go.
Can we combine a safari or a journey with a beach stay?+
Yes. Sri Lanka: Hill Country to Ocean already ends on a Maldives island, and any of our journeys can finish with a few slow days at one of our resorts. A safari followed by a beach is one of the most asked-for honeymoon plans, and your advisor times the flights between the two so you do not lose a day in transit.
Maldives or Bali, which is better for a honeymoon?+
Choose the Maldives for privacy and Bali for variety. In the Maldives you stay on one island, in an overwater villa at SO/ Maldives or Soneva Jani, and the days are about the water. Bali pairs the beaches of Nusa Dua with the green hills around Ubud, with more to see each day. The Maldives is at its best from November to April and Bali from about May to October, so your wedding month may decide it.
Whose name should go on our tickets if one of us is changing name?+
Book every ticket in the name on the passport you will travel with, because the two must match. If you plan to change your name, the simplest route is to travel on your current passport and update it once you are home. [UK government advice](https://www.gov.uk/changing-passport-information) notes that a new passport comes with a new number, so changing it before the trip can unsettle bookings made months ahead.
