Day 1 · Arenal
You are met at Juan Santamaría airport and driven north to La Fortuna, the village at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. After checking in and resting, spend the afternoon in thermal pools and waterfalls fed by the volcano, set among tropical gardens. Dinner is included.
Peñas Blancas and Arenal
Day 2 · Peñas Blancas and Arenal
Drift down the river at Peñas Blancas by raft with a guide, watching the banks for monkeys, iguanas and basilisk lizards. Afterwards, visit a local family at their home to grind corn and make tortillas, then share a lunch cooked on a wood-fired stove. The afternoon back at the hotel is free.
Monteverde
Day 3 · Monteverde
Cross Lake Arenal on a pontoon boat and continue by road to Monteverde. A guide leads you through the cloud forest reserve, from wind-shaped elfin woodland to tall rainforest, and up to the Continental Divide, where you can see towards both the Caribbean and the Pacific. The rest of the day is yours.

After a last breakfast, take the shared transfer back to Juan Santamaría airport for your onward flight.
