Day 1 · Athens
You are met at the airport and taken to your hotel. The afternoon is free for Syntagma Square, shopping in Kolonaki or along Ermou, and a quiet walk through the old lanes of Plaka.
Day 2 · Athens
A free morning, then an afternoon along the coast past Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza to Cape Sounion. The white marble columns of the Temple of Poseidon stand at the tip of Attica, with views over the Saronic Gulf and time to walk the headland.
Kalambaka
Day 3 · Kalambaka
Travel by Thebes and Levadia to the mountain village of Arachova and on to Delphi, where you visit the archaeological site. Continue through the villages of central Greece to Kalambaka for dinner.
Athens
Day 4 · Athens
Visit two of the Meteora monasteries, set high on rock towers and holding centuries of religious art. Return to Athens by Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae, with a stop at the Leonidas monument, arriving early in the evening.
Day 5 · Athens
A guided tour past the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Syntagma Square, then up to the Propylaea, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon. Finish in the Acropolis Museum, then collect your bags for the airport transfer.

You spend two nights in Athens with a choice of the Acropolis, the Plaka or the Peloponnese before boarding at Piraeus. The ship calls at volcanic Milos, Kalamata and Corfu, then sails up the Adriatic to Kotor in Montenegro and Dubrovnik. After a day at sea you arrive in Venice.
