San José
Day 1 · San José
You are met at the airport and taken by shared transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest or explore the city.
Tortuguero
Day 2 · Tortuguero
Leave early for the north Caribbean coast, with breakfast at Guápiles, then board a shared boat at La Pavona dock for your lodge. After lunch a guide takes you deeper into the lagoons and narrow canals, where the wildlife comes close.
Day 3 · Tortuguero
A guided walk on the lodge's private trails starts the day, followed by free time at the pool. In the afternoon your guide shows you the small village of Tortuguero.
Arenal
Day 4 · Arenal
Return by boat and road to Guápiles for lunch, where the car hire team meets you with your 4x4. From there you drive yourselves to La Fortuna, at the foot of Arenal Volcano, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 5 · Arenal
A free day, with the car at hand to explore the Arenal region or simply stay put and rest. La Fortuna is known for its wellness retreats.
Monteverde
Day 6 · Monteverde
Set off when it suits you for the Monteverde cloud forest region. The rest of the day is free once you have checked in.
Day 7 · Monteverde
Explore the biological reserves and hanging bridges, take a zipline over the canopy, or try a coffee tour or Costa Rican cooking class.
San José
Day 8 · San José
Drive yourselves back to the capital and check in, then hand the car back at the hotel at the agreed time. The rest of the day is free.
Tortuga Island
Day 9 · Tortuga Island
A shared transfer takes you to Puntarenas to board a catamaran, with music and tropical snacks on the way out. The day is for the island's white sand and turquoise water, with lunch on the beach, before sailing back at sunset.
San José
Day 10 · San José
After breakfast, a shared transfer takes you to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your flight home.
