Day 1 · San José
You are met at the airport and taken by shared transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in or wander the city.
Tortuguero
Day 2 · Tortuguero
An early shared transfer heads for the north Caribbean coast, with breakfast at Guápiles and a boat from La Pavona dock to your lodge. After lunch a guide takes you out on the lagoons and into the narrower canals, where the forest and its wildlife come close.
Day 3 · Tortuguero
Walk the lodge's private trails with a guide in the morning, then cool off in the pool. In the afternoon you visit the small village of Tortuguero before returning to the lodge.
Arenal
Day 4 · Arenal
Travel by boat and road back to Guápiles for lunch, then on by shared transfer to La Fortuna at the foot of Arenal Volcano. You arrive in the afternoon with time to enjoy the hotel.
Day 5 · Arenal
A free day to rest or explore the Arenal region on your own. La Fortuna is known for its wellness retreats, and the volcano still sends up the odd plume of smoke.
Monteverde
Day 6 · Monteverde
Cross Lake Arenal by boat to Río Chiquito, then continue by road up to Monteverde, arriving around midday. The afternoon is yours to start exploring.
Day 7 · Monteverde
Spend the day as you like: the biological reserves, the hanging bridges, a zipline over the canopy, a coffee tour or a Costa Rican cooking class can all be arranged locally.
San José
Day 8 · San José
A shared transfer brings you back to the capital around midday. The afternoon is free to rest or explore the city.
Tortuga Island
Day 9 · Tortuga Island
Drive to Puntarenas and board a catamaran for Tortuga Island, with music and tropical snacks on board. Spend the day on the island's white sand and turquoise water, with lunch on the beach, and sail back at sunset before the drive to San José.

Day 10 · San José
After breakfast, a shared transfer takes you to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your flight home.
