Sarchí and Arenal
Day 2 · Sarchí and Arenal
Head out of San José to Sarchí, the town of Costa Rica's artisans, known for its painted ox carts and a record-breaking giant one. Continue to La Fortuna for lunch with a view of Arenal Volcano, then spend the afternoon in a resort's thermal pools, fed by mineral water from the volcano. Dinner faces the volcano before the drive back to San José.
Tortuguero
Day 3 · Tortuguero
Leave early for the Caribbean side, with breakfast at Guápiles and a shared boat from La Pavona dock to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon a guide walks you through the small village of Tortuguero.
Tortuguero and San José
Day 4 · Tortuguero and San José
Meet your guide before sunrise for a boat trip through the canals of Tortuguero National Park and a Caribbean dawn, then return to the lodge for breakfast. Travel back by boat and road, with lunch at Guápiles, to San José.

After breakfast, a shared transfer takes you to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your flight home.
