Day 2 · Porto
A shared half-day tour starts at 9 am in the UNESCO-listed old centre, walking cobbled lanes of coloured houses. See the hilltop Sé cathedral from outside, with its rose window and city views, and finish in São Bento station, whose hall is lined with more than 20,000 painted tiles.
Day 3 · Porto
A free day in the city. Walk the pedestrian stretch of Santa Catarina for shopping, or simply wander between the viewpoints and cafes.
Guimarães and Braga
Day 4 · Guimarães and Braga
A full guided day from 8.45 am. Start at Guimarães Castle, a symbol of Portugal's birth, then walk the UNESCO-listed medieval centre around Largo da Oliveira. In Braga, visit the cathedral, climb the zigzag baroque stairway of Bom Jesus with its statues and fountains, and finish at the hilltop Sameiro sanctuary before returning to Porto.
Porto
Day 5 · Porto
Another free day. Head down to Ribeira for a slow lunch at one of the riverside restaurants, with a glass of Vinho Verde or a Douro red.
Day 6 · Porto
After a last breakfast your driver collects you from the hotel at the agreed time for the airport.
