Nairobi
Day 1 · Nairobi
You are met at the airport and taken to a contemporary hotel with a pool, two restaurants and a bar. The afternoon is free to rest after the flight.
Maasai Mara
Day 2 · Maasai Mara
An early start down the Rift Valley escarpment and across the wheat fields around Narok to your camp below the Oldonyo Oloip Ridge. After lunch, set out on your first game drive.
Day 3 · Maasai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drives looking for lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, with lunch and a rest at camp in between. In the dry season a waterhole in front of the camp draws wildlife close.
Lake Naivasha
Day 4 · Lake Naivasha
Cross the Rift Valley floor and climb the Mau Escarpment to reach Lake Naivasha around midday. After lunch, take a boat out on the lake, with the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Amboseli
Day 5 · Amboseli
A long drive south with a picnic lunch on the way, ending with a game drive into Amboseli, known for seeing elephants at close range beneath Kilimanjaro. Evenings at the lodge can include sundowners and Maasai dancing.
Tsavo West
Day 6 · Tsavo West
A morning game drive in Amboseli, then lunch and the drive east across the Shetani lava flow below the Chyulu Hills. Your stone lodge looks straight down on a waterhole visited by elephant and buffalo.
Taita Hills
Day 7 · Taita Hills
A morning game drive in Tsavo West includes Mzima Springs, where an underwater hide looks into the pools. After lunch, continue to the Taita Hills sanctuary and watch the salt lick and waterhole from your lodge balcony or its underground hide.
Mombasa
Day 8 · Mombasa
A final game drive in the Taita Hills sanctuary and lunch at the lodge, then the drive down to the coast. You reach your North or South Coast beach hotel by late afternoon.
