NYBFW: MARCHESA

Held at the luxurious St Regis Hotel in New York, Marchesa‘s 2015 Fall collection evoked an ethereal romance created by feminine silhouettes, soft flouncy ruffles and intricate embellished details.

From the moment the large mahogany doors swung open to reveal gold cloud-dappled ceilings adorned with luxe gilt chandeliers, guests were given a glimpse into the world of timeless elegance and fairytale inspiration of Marchesa.

Detailed and delicate two piece separates took centre stage with dramatic voluminous skirts and invisible necklines a reoccurring theme. And although the collection is the princess bride’s ultimate fantasy, the modern girl was not forgotten. The collection featured knee length strapless dresses as well as above the knee flute hems perfect for a second dress or the destination bride.

Soft pieces of baby breath were placed in the models’ hair and was the perfect accessory to accentuate the romantic and whimsical mood.

The collection has left us intrigued and day dreaming of the ultimate Marchesa bride who isn’t afraid to experiment with textures, modern shapes and alternative lengths.
