We have no words for this Wedding Fairies – just love! Louise and Yianni’s journey to the altar will be one to remember and cherish forever. Their Wedding day was one that they had to fight for, and their love story truly proving to all that love. conquers. everything! We knew we had to reach out to these two and find out more, and oh my was their journey full of emotion, sincerity and sentiment.
Louise hopes that in sharing her story, others will step out of their comfort zone and just ‘do it’! Never would they have imagined Marrying this way – but they wouldn’t change it for the world and encourage other Couples alike to follow suit because Fairies, nothing can put a hold on love!
Meeting over 7.5 years ago, the two became inseparable and were engaged in December 2019 – starting their new chapter together in life. “The proposal was so incredibly special… I wasn’t expecting it at all and it was the most beautiful and emotional surprise.” Fast forward to November 2021 and the pair said their ‘I Dos’, committing themselves to each other with an intimate, beautiful and emotional Wedding.
Marrying with only 10 of their immediate family members, Yianni and Louise decided to put love first and Wed as soon as they could, postponing their celebrations for January 2022. Walking down the aisle of St. Patricks Cathedral was always Louise’s lifelong dream, “there was something so incredibly moving about walking down that grand aisle with only a few witnesses there.” The stunning Bride was a vision in white wearing a gorgeous gown from Mihano Momosa, and sealed her love with Yianni forever with a kiss.
We have followed these two on their journey to the altar for a long while, with Covid19 postponing their Wedding not once, not twice, but four times.
- January 23rd, 2021. POSTPONED
- 5th June 2021. POSTPONED
- 3rd July 2021. POSTPONED
- 8th August 2021 POSTPONED
- And finally, 11 November 2021 (11.11.2021) PART ONE! DONE!
All of the adversity and hardship Louise and Yianni went through to get to their special day pushed them over the line to make that commitment to each other, for each other, and Marry whether with a party or no party. “We certainly don’t take for granted how lucky and blessed we are to have the great privilege of committing ourselves to each other.” Despite all of the pressures and uncertainties Covid19 posed on them and many other Couples, they overcame the situation by changing their mindset to adapt to the reality of COVID, “making the best out of a bad situation.”
Looking back on her whole Wedding planning process, Louise would have told herself to be more open-minded from the start and to accept that matters out of your control can change your original plans. “I learnt to seize any obstacles thrown at us and cave our own path. So many of us, including myself, have spent our lives relying on having a thought out plan for the future because we need that safety blanket for self assurance – it’s like our very own insurance policy we put in place for ourselves … but once I was able to change my mindset and adapt to the reality of COVID, we stopped feeling sorry for ourselves and decided to make the best out of a bad situation.” Out of unforeseen situations comes a beautiful love story and memories that stay with you for a lifetime – special and intimate moments that many other Couples don’t have.
Wedded Wonderland has been a support system for Couples worldwide, giving Brides and Couples alike the opportunity to connect and support each other through the challenges of planning a Wedding in a pandemic. We asked Louise how Wedded Wonderland helped her throughout her planning process, “I joined the Wedded Clique on Facebook to stay up to date with government announcements and changes to rules on weddings during the pandemic. It was so helpful to connect with other brides that were going through the same challenges and I hope sharing my story gives others hope… The strength to push through and follow your heart no matter how many challenges life throws at you. I couldn’t see this, but I do now. And I’m so thankful for that.” Our Wedded Wonderland Clique has proven time and time again to help and support many of our Brides, just like Louise – you can join the group here!
