Peter proposed to Jessica while they were jet-setting across the world, travelling from Australia to New York, Miami and Mexico.
As they were enjoying the Miami Beach views from their hotel balcony Peter decided that was the perfect time to propose. “He told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He got down on one knee and presented me with the most incredible custom designed engagement ring, which was selected with the help of my 7 month old niece,” Jessica told Wedded Wonderland.
“The funny thing is Peter’s numerous attempts to propose during the course of our holiday. From wearing gloves in New York, to a typhoon in Key West and being distracted on 8 Mile bridge trying to capture a photo of a pelican. There was a lot of pressure on Peter to capture the perfect moment but at the end of the day the proposal was perfect with the simple things – just him and I.” We couldn’t agree more!
With Peter coming from a Greek heritage and both wanting a destination wedding, it only made sense for the couple to wed in Santorini; amidst the white soft rendered buildings, blue domed rooftops and the most incredible of oceans views.
Reflecting back on their relaxed and carefree special day, Jessica told Wedded Wonderland one of the funniest and most memorable moments of the day was watching her husband-to-be arrive to the church in Santorini on a donkey. Talk about a unique entrance!
More memorable moments from their dreamy destination wedding included embracing the Greek tradition of plate-smashing and smashing 240 plates on the dance-floor, as well as watching 100 fireworks explode above them as the night came to an end. Overall, the couple described their wedding as “a day we will treasure forever.”
This wedding has us dreaming of magical sunsets in Santorini!
