Photos: Aksari Resort Ubud
A small jungle-valley resort near Tegallalang where couples marry in an open chapel or on the infinity pool, with weddings of up to 70 guests.
Aksari is a resort for small weddings, from an elopement for 2 up to about 70 guests. Couples choose between 2 ceremony settings: the Aksari Wedding Chapel, set among the trees with views over the jungle, or the infinity pool, where vows are said at the water's edge with the valley falling away behind.
The resort offers private pool villas, including Grand One and Two Bedroom River View and River Side Villas, alongside suites with bathtubs and forest views. Third-party listings put the total at 30 rooms and villas, small enough for a group to fill much of the property.
Receptions are usually held at Ankhusa Restaurant, which serves Balinese, Indonesian or western menus at long, dressed tables. The resort can bring in a Balinese rindik ensemble during dinner, an acoustic act, or a DJ later in the evening, and handles flowers, sound and photography in-house. Because the property is compact and set well outside central Ubud, guests tend to spend the whole day on site, which gives the wedding a close, unhurried feel. The jungle setting is green most of the year, so a covered backup is worth discussing for the wet season.
Between events, guests can book Svaha Spa, join a yoga class, try floating sound healing or order a floating breakfast in the villa pool. Kojin serves Japanese teppanyaki and omakase. Day trips cover Tegallalang rice terraces, Tirta Empul temple and Taro Village, and central Ubud is about 25 to 30 minutes by car.

Dinner is laid at long, dressed tables in Ankhusa Restaurant while a Balinese rindik ensemble plays. Later an acoustic act or a DJ carries the evening on.
