Trang
Day 1 · Trang
You are met at Phuket or Krabi airport and driven south to Trang, with lunch at a local restaurant on the way. After checking in, visit the waterfalls of Khao Phanom Bencha National Park and the hilltop cave temple of Wat Tham Sua, with long views over the countryside.
Day 2 · Trang
Head to Pak Meng Pier for a full day on the water around Koh Kradan and Koh Mook, with white sand, clear water and lunch on board. If the weather allows, the boat also calls at the Emerald Cave. Back to Trang in the afternoon.
Phatthalung
Day 3 · Phatthalung
Drive to Tham Le Khao Kob in the Huai Yot district, a river cave you travel through by boat, lying down in the lowest stretches. Lunch is at a local restaurant, then the road follows a lake valley to Phatthalung.
Nakhon Si Thammarat
Day 4 · Nakhon Si Thammarat
Start early on Thale Noi, one of Thailand's most important wetlands, where water lilies and lotus flowers cover the lake in season. After breakfast, drive north through the mountain village of Baan Kiri Wong to Nakhon Si Thammarat, one of the country's oldest cities.
Khanom
Day 5 · Khanom
Visit Wat Phra Mahathat, held to be the oldest temple in Thailand, then the shadow puppet museum at the home of a master puppeteer. Continue through Khao Luang National Park to Khanom on the Gulf coast, climbing about 300 steps to the Tham Khao Wang Tong cave and its stalactites.
Surat Thani
Day 6 · Surat Thani
Drive to Surat Thani for a long-tail boat ride on the River Tapi, watching life along the banks, and lunch at a local restaurant. The tour finishes around 2 pm at a Surat Thani hotel or the airport.
