Day 1 · Bangkok
You are met at the airport and taken to your hotel. The afternoon is free to ease into the city, perhaps with a Thai massage or a sunset drink on a rooftop.
Day 2 · Bangkok
A guided half day visits Wat Traimit and its solid gold Buddha, Wat Pho and its 46 metre reclining Buddha by way of Chinatown, and the Grand Palace with the temple of the Emerald Buddha. The tour ends at a jewellery and silk showroom.
Maeklong and Damnoen Saduak
Day 3 · Maeklong and Damnoen Saduak
Watch traders at Maeklong clear their stalls from the railway line as the train comes through, then wander the canals of Damnoen Saduak, where boats piled with fruit and vegetables do their business. Return to Bangkok in the afternoon.
Chiang Mai
Day 4 · Chiang Mai
Some free time in Bangkok, then a transfer to the airport for your flight north. A driver meets you in Chiang Mai and takes you to your hotel.
Day 5 · Chiang Mai
Explore the old Lanna capital as you like. A half-day tour can take you up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, high above the city, and to Wat Suan Dok and Wat Chedi Luang.
Krabi
Day 6 · Krabi
Transfer to Chiang Mai airport for your flight to Krabi. You are met on arrival and driven to your resort, with the rest of the day to settle in by the sea.
Day 7 · Krabi
A free day. If you would like to get out on the water, a half-day speedboat trip calls at Phra Nang beach, Tup and Chicken islands, joined by a sandbar at low tide, and Poda for a swim.
Day 8 · Krabi
Another open day for the beach. Or take a full-day speedboat trip to the Phi Phi islands, about 45 minutes away, for Monkey Beach, Viking Cave, Pileh, snorkelling and lunch at Tonsai Bay.
Day 9 · Krabi
A final free day in Krabi, among limestone headlands, mangroves and long white beaches.
Day 10 · Krabi
Breakfast, then a transfer to Krabi airport for your onward journey.
