Day 1 · Bari
Make your way to the hotel and check in. At three in the afternoon, join a small group walk through the old town: the Basilica of Saint Nicholas and its crypt, the Cathedral of San Sabino and the Swabian castle, then lanes where pasta is still made by hand at the door. Finish in the newer quarter by the fish market, with a homemade gelato.
Day 2 · Bari
Spend the day in the kitchen of a local home cook, learning Pugliese dishes such as fava bean soup with chicory, anchovies au gratin and orecchiette. Then sit down to eat what you made, with red and white wines.
Day 3 · Bari
A small group archaeological tour links the new and old cities: the church of Santa Teresa dei Maschi, a Byzantine church excavated inside Palazzo Simi, and the medieval houses of Isolato 49. It ends with the crypt beneath San Sabino, a walk on the old walls and the ruined church of Santa Maria del Buon Consiglio.

A last breakfast and, time permitting, a final walk or some shopping before you leave.
