In Serbia’s Nature Reserves after a 7km bush-walk and surrounded by a stunning lake and barley fields, Vuk got down on one knee and proposed to Tamara.
“Of course I said yes! It was such a happy moment and I couldn’t wait to share the news with my family and friends back home in Australia,” said Tamara, “It was so spontaneous and natural, and not at all over the top which made it all the more special.”
The couple chose to celebrate their wedding in Belgrade, Serbia, allowing four generations of families to come together for a night of love and happiness.
Tamara explained, “After having endured a civil war in Former Yugoslavia and fleeing to many countries and continents around the world, some people hadn’t seen each other in 30 years, so it was really special to have everyone gather together for this special occasion. We were fortunate to have family and friends travel from Australia, America, the UK, Netherlands, Austria, the Emirates, and some of the Balkan countries.”
The ceremony took place in the oldest Serbian Cathedral, where Tamara and Vuk walked into the church together to meet their family and friends.
The theme of the wedding itself was simple and chic; it was Vogue with a touch of regal elegance. Held at a restaurant inside the Belgrade Fortress and with a view of the River Sava and the Danube, the setting was truly magical. With bright white florals, gold furnishings, fairy lights, and lush green foliage, every detail was planned to perfection.
The night ended with a sentimental Best Man speech and a dance floor filled with guests laughing and dancing. Not ending until 2 o’clock the next morning, the wedding was truly a remarkable celebration.
