Wedded Wonderland had the privilege of attending Engage!25 Peru, an extraordinary gathering set against the breathtaking backdrop of Cusco and Machu Picchu. This 50th edition of Engage! marked not only a milestone for the global wedding and events community but also a defining moment for South America, hosting the retreat for the very first time.
We were honoured to be personally invited by Arturo de Noriega, Creative Director of La Fête Event Planning, whose vision shaped the soul of this year’s retreat.
Over several days, Engage!25 immersed attendees in a rare journey that blended Peru’s cultural legacy with world-class hospitality.
Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, became the stage for a dialogue between history and modern luxury. From walking the cobbled streets to witnessing the grandeur of colonial monasteries built upon Inca foundations, every moment carried centuries of meaning.
Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel offered a sanctuary of elegance, with its cloistered courtyards and collection of colonial art framing unforgettable gatherings
The journey aboard Hiram Bingham, A Belmond Train to Machu Picchu transformed travel into theatre, where Peruvian music, cuisine, and scenery created an atmosphere as magical as the citadel itself.
Each detail, from curated artisan gifts to candlelit feasts, reflected a commitment to cultural authenticity, proving that weddings and events can become both immersive and transformative experiences.
“These are not events one simply attends. They are journeys to be inhabited. woven with the elegance of tradition, the artistry of contemporary luxury, and the magic of a place where time folds into eternity.”
– Arturo de Noriega
Engage! has always been a cornerstone for the global luxury wedding industry, but this edition carried a deeper resonance. By spotlighting Peru, the event underscored the growing significance of celebration tourism and the power of destinations to shape the future of luxury weddings.
The retreat brought together 100 leading professionals from 12 countries, representing planners, venues, designers, creatives, and tourism leaders. It was not simply about networking, it was about redefining the wedding landscape in three key ways:
Engage!25 Peru was not only about breathtaking experiences; it was also a forum for world-class ideas.
Among the highlights was a keynote from Duncan Wardle, former Head of Innovation and Creativity at Disney and founder of ID8 & INNOV8. Drawing on decades of experience leading creative transformation at Disney Parks, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel, Duncan challenged attendees to think differently about innovation and disruption.
“Innovation happens at the intersection of unlikely connections.”
– Duncan Wardle
For the wedding industry, this message was clear: growth will come not from repeating what has worked, but from forging new connections between culture, technology, creativity, and commerce.
The combination of Arturo de Noriega’s cultural vision and Duncan Wardle’s innovative lens made Engage!25 Peru a masterclass in how heritage and creativity can coexist to shape the future of luxury celebrations.
As a platform that connects couples, vendors, venues, and tourism boards across continents, Wedded Wonderland’s role at Engage!25 Peru was to observe, engage, and translate these insights for the broader industry.
“In Cusco, I do not create fleeting moments. I craft jewels of memory, experiences that endure long after the last toast, carrying with them the beauty, spirit, and prestige of one of the most extraordinary places on Earth.”
– Arturo de Noriega
For Wedded Wonderland, engaging with Arturo was a meeting of shared values. His vision of positioning Cusco as a world-class celebration destination aligns seamlessly with our missionof creating a new era of luxury, cultural, and destination weddings. Together, we recognized that the future of luxury celebrations lies in cultural immersion, authenticity, and strategic partnerships.
Our time in Cusco reaffirmed a truth we continue to champion: weddings are more than celebrations, they are cultural exchanges and economic drivers. The retreat was a reminder that the most powerful events are those rooted in both place and purpose.
So what’s next? We carry forward a strengthened relationship with Arturo de Noriega, and with it, a commitment to spotlighting destinations that are shaping the future of weddings and events worldwide.
