Recently, we asked our audience whether wedding photography should stay timeless or embrace raw moments. The responses were abundantly clear, couples want both. So how can modern weddings capture fleeting moments while also creating memories that last a lifetime?
Many photographers describe today’s approach as “done and gone”. What does this mean? Moments are instantly captured and shared online, but they are prone to get lost in the endless abyss of social media’s timeline.
Candid shots capture the beauty in spontaneity. They celebrate all the emotions of the big day through the focus of authenticity, whether it be laughter, tears or moments caught off-guard that often go unnoticed. These are the perfect material for stories and reels, though on their own it could feel fleeting or otherwise, “done and gone.”
This is where timeless photography comes in. These come in the form of intentional storytelling through carefully crafted portraits in the midst of beautifully directed details. They create moments that can be revisited, images that grace albums, and decorate walls of their future home. Photos are then passed down generations to generations, all the while carrying emotions of the day long after the celebration ends.
