Yes Fairies, we’ve got the expert advice for you!
There’s no doubt it’s been a tough couple of years which is why Brides need their besties by their side on their big day more than ever before.
“Bridesmaids are becoming more and more important in the lead up to the big day…planning a wedding has always been a stressful time for a bride-to-be, but throw a global pandemic into the mix and it’s a time where our brides really need their besties by their side!,”says Bessy.
Here are some of the Bridesmaids trends we are loving.
1. Mix ‘n’ match
First up is the mix ‘n’ match. Bride’s are finding it vital to make sure their bridesmaids feel comfortable and look amazing. Bessy says, “The trend of mix n match is becoming more popular to ensure everyone feels amazing in their dress!”.
This isn’t a new trend, but it’s one we’re excited to see becoming more popular! Mix & match bridesmaid gowns give your bridesmaids the freedom to wear anything that makes them feel beautiful in a color and/or style that suits them.
2. Colour trends: White, Black, and Neutrals
According to Bessy from White Runway, we’re sticking with the basics this year with white, black and neutrals here to stay!
The color white for bridesmaids dresses has become a modern bridal party mainstay, taking the top place on our bridesmaids dress trends for the past two years. Clean, crisp whites never go out of style since they’re universally attractive, adaptable, and appropriate for every sort of wedding, from a laid-back bohemian celebration to a glitzy, black-tie affair.
Bridesmaids dressed in black make a powerful statement! It’s a fashionable option that appeals to everybody, which is why we can expect to see even more of them in 2022 and 2023! Whether your wedding is black-tie or more casual, there’s a black dress that your bridesmaids will adore. Your ladies will appreciate that you chose gowns that they can wear time after time!
One of the most popular color palettes for pleasing friends and relatives with different tastes, particularly those who love muted hues, is neutral wedding party dresses. Neutral tones are ideal for bridesmaids, whether you have only one or two bridesmaids or a group of eight or ten. Light and sandy tints with yellow overtones to more rich hues coloured with orange, rust, or brown are all possibilities.
3. Luxe Fabrics: Silk, Satin, and Velvet
These three fabrics are here for the long haul for 2022 Bridesmaids dressing.
When it comes to selecting fabrics for bridesmaids’ dresses, there are a plethora of options to consider. Should you stick to classic textiles like light chiffon and delicate lace? Or perhaps you’re looking for something a little more glitzy and glistening? Silk and satin bridal party dresses should surely be on your radar if you fall into the latter type.
These silky fabrics are available in a wide range of weights, from heavy to light, making them a flexible alternative for various sorts of weddings and seasons. Silk and satin are also appropriate for a wide range of designs, from slinky ’90s-inspired slip dresses to formal gowns. Silk and Satin both photograph wonderfully due to their sheen and almost velvet-like look.
It’s all the same for velvet!
A final piece of advice
“2022 will be a year for celebrations! Worry less about the ‘small stuff’ and enjoy the planning process. Sadly, we still need to plan things with Covid in mind – so be sure to discuss back-up plans/options with all your vendors (just in case!),” Bessy, White Runway Boutique.
We completely agree! Exciting times are ahead as things seem to be going back to normal (whatever that is), but the most important thing is to stay safe and keep loving.
