Set within a rustic French chateau, nestled in Byron Bay’s Hinterland this gorgeous wedding is a perfect balance of modern and classic.
It was love at first sight for this gorgeous couple Emma and Tom, “We complement each other perfectly and balance each other out.” the couple explains to Wedded Wonderland. From their initial meeting at work, their relationship blossomed in a traditional courtship “I love that. It was so nice to meet a true gentleman – he still opens doors for me or steps aside to let me walk first”.
Tom proposed at their favourite restaurant in Byron Bay, a place they call their ‘special place’. “I had a feeling Tom was going to propose as he was so nervous he didn’t talk to me all day!” Surrounded by an array of candles, they cemented their love by carving their names into a tree, followed by a cocktail in a private century-old bakery.
“Wanting to share their special place with their family and friends, it was only fitting for them to have their stunning wedding back in Byron Bay. Their stunning wedding was held at the Deux Belettes, a venue charmingly known as the French House. “The venue didn’t need much as it is simple stunning”, describes Emma. “We wanted the day to be effortless for our guests, calm but still a structured black-tie event with all the traditional elements of a wedding”.
Showcasing the beauty of the Deux Belettes the styling was rich with Mediterranean influences and contemporary simplicity. Their ceremony, held in an outdoor courtyard reminiscent of a quintessential French farmhouse, was styled with two over-arching arbours clustered with white and green flowers and bold hints of red flowers. For the reception they kept the same floral theme with masses of greenery accented with deep reds, in whimsical garlands over the guest’s tables.
Emma was dressed in a romantic and timeless Steven Khalil gown with a modern twist. Embellished with beaded lace and a detachable cathedral style train, this amazing gown definitely is simply beautiful.
Be inspired, Fairies!
