Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket sits on a stretch of Karon Beach, and most ceremonies happen on the sand under the frangipani trees. For a smaller group, the Beachcomber area, fringed by coconut palms, takes 40 to 60 guests and works for sundowner receptions and relaxed dinners by the water. The resort's planners handle Western, Thai, Indian and Chinese weddings as well as vow renewals, and Thai pavilions add another setting for photos.
Rooms, suites and villas draw on Phuket Town's Sino-Portuguese style, from Deluxe and Deluxe Ocean View rooms to Spa rooms, private pool suites and 1 and 2-bedroom pool villas with Club benefits, up to the Royal Villa.
Larger celebrations move indoors. The Phuket Grand Ballroom combines 2 rooms into 576 square metres and can take up to 780 people at full stretch, or be split into Ballroom I and II at about 190 each. That makes the resort one of the more practical Phuket choices for big family weddings, with a beach ceremony at sunset followed by a banquet with full audiovisual. Many couples also use the beach for a whimsical reception under the stars when numbers are smaller.
Between events, the resort is built around 7 swimming and water-play areas, including a main pool, the adults-only Ripples Pool, a lazy river, water slides and a jumping cliff. Camp Safari Kids' Club and E-Zone run from 09:00 to 18:00. SPA Cenvaree has private suites for singles and couples, and COAST Beach Club & Bistro is the easy option for a long lunch on the sand.
