Can we marry at the Paestum temples?
Plan on the temples for your photographs rather than the ceremony. Couples usually marry at a nearby villa, farm or hotel and visit the three Doric temples for portraits. A legal civil wedding goes through the Comune di Capaccio Paestum, and at the Savoy Hotel and SPA every space is recognised by the municipality, so the vows can be legal there.
Can we see Capri from a Paestum wedding?
Yes, from Beach Club 93, the Savoy Hotel and SPA's private beach, where the island sits on the horizon as the sun goes down. The Cilento park rises on one side of the bay and the Amalfi Coast on the other, so the view runs along both shores. If you would rather marry in a garden, the Majolica Garden is the other ceremony setting.
Is there a Michelin-starred restaurant at the Savoy in Paestum?
Yes. Ristorante Tre Olivi, on site at the Savoy Hotel and SPA, holds a Michelin star and suits a welcome dinner the night before the wedding. Produce comes from the family's organic farm, San Salvatore 1988, so much of the menu is grown on the family's own land.
What is Cilento known for?
Mountains, forest and a long Tyrrhenian coastline running south of Paestum to the Gulf of Policastro. It holds the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998, and the Cilento DOC wine area, where Aglianico is a key red grape. Mozzarella from local buffalo milk is the taste guests talk about.
