Antalya
Day 1 · Antalya
Collect your car at Antalya airport and drive to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the old town and harbour.
Alanya
Day 2 · Alanya
Drive east by way of Aksu, Serik and Manavgat. You can stop at the ancient city of Perge, the Kursunlu waterfalls and the Roman theatre of Aspendos, still used for concerts, then walk the old town of Side on its headland before reaching Alanya.
Kizkalesi
Day 3 · Kizkalesi
See the castle hill at Alanya or Cleopatra Beach, then follow the winding road past banana plantations towards Anamur and its Mamure castle. Stop in Silifke on the Goksu river and, near Kizkalesi, the caves of Cennet and Cehennem or the Byzantine Maiden Castle on its island.
Cappadocia
Day 4 · Cappadocia
Drive north by way of Tarsus, stopping at the Gumusler Monastery and one of the underground cities, such as Derinkuyu, Kaymakli or Mazi. Arrive in Cappadocia, a volcanic landscape known for its early Christian churches and its wine.
Day 5 · Cappadocia
Visit the Goreme Open Air Museum and its cave churches, then walk one of the valley trails, which range from easy to moderate.
Day 6 · Cappadocia
Another day among the rock formations. Choose from the village of Soganli, the Red Valley, the pottery town of Avanos, the Ihlara Valley, or the viewpoints of Uchisar castle, Rose Valley, Love Valley and the Three Beauties.
Konya and Antalya
Day 7 · Konya and Antalya
Cross the Anatolian plateau, pausing at the Tuz Golu salt lake and the Sultanhani caravanserai, and visit the Mevlana Museum in Konya. The road then climbs over the Taurus Mountains and down to Antalya.
Antalya
Day 8 · Antalya
A last breakfast before you drive back to Antalya airport and return the car.
