Day 2 · Istanbul
A guided day through Sultanahmet: the old Hippodrome with its obelisk and Serpentine Column, the Blue Mosque with its Iznik tiles, and Hagia Sophia with its 6th-century mosaics. After lunch there is a stop to shop for spices, sweets and coffee.
Istanbul and Kusadasi
Day 3 · Istanbul and Kusadasi
Cruise the strait between Europe and Asia past wooden villas, Dolmabahce and Ciragan palaces, Ortakoy and the Rumeli Fortress. After lunch and the Spice Bazaar, fly to Izmir and drive to your hotel in Kusadasi for dinner.
Ephesus and Sirince
Day 4 · Ephesus and Sirince
A guided morning at Ephesus: the Temple of Artemis, Curetes Street, the Roman baths, the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. After lunch and a carpet weaving centre, visit the hillside village of Sirince for a fruit wine tasting in its vineyards, with a stop at a leather maker on the way back.
Pamukkale
Day 5 · Pamukkale
Drive inland to Pamukkale for lunch, then walk the white calcium terraces and the ruins of Hierapolis, with the chance to sit in the warm spring waters. Return to Kusadasi for dinner.
Kusadasi
Day 6 · Kusadasi
After breakfast, transfer to Izmir airport for your flight back to Istanbul.
