Up to Ubud and a batik class

Your driver collects you around noon and takes you up to Ubud. After checking in, spend two hours learning Balinese batik: its history, the motifs that set it apart and how the wax and dye are worked. The rest of the afternoon is free.

  2. Ubud and Tegallalang

Day 2 · Ubud and Tegallalang

Art, rice terraces and the monkey forest

Begin at the ARMA Museum, where, if he is available, the founder takes you on a short walk through a collection known for local artists and the work of Walter Spies. After lunch, see the Tegallalang rice terraces and drive back through Petulu to the Ubud palace, still home to the royal family, and the art market beside it. End with a short visit to the monkey forest and its long-tailed macaques.

Questions couples ask

Is this a private trip?+
Yes. Your transfers and touring are private in an air-conditioned car, and an English-speaking local guide joins the batik class, the art day and the village day.
When should we arrive?+
Pick-up is at noon on day 1, from the airport or a hotel in Kuta, Nusa Dua, Seminyak or Uluwatu, so the batik class can go ahead. Plan to land before midday, or add a night beforehand.
Will we meet the museum's founder?+
The walk with the founder of the ARMA Museum depends on his availability and cannot be promised.
