Legian
Day 1 · Legian
Your guide meets you at Bali airport and takes you to your hotel in Legian. The rest of the day is free.
Uluwatu, Tanah Lot and Ubud
Day 2 · Uluwatu, Tanah Lot and Ubud
Drive south to Uluwatu, a temple some 70 metres up a cliff above the Indian Ocean. After lunch, continue to Tanah Lot, built on a rock in the sea in the 16th century, and stay for sunset if the weather allows, before driving up to Ubud.
Ubud and Kintamani
Day 3 · Ubud and Kintamani
Watch a Barong and Kris dance in Batubulan, then visit the silver, weaving, woodcarving and painting villages of Celuk, Batuan and Mas. See the monkey forest and the holy spring of Tirta Empul, then look out over Mount Batur and its lake over lunch in Kintamani.
Penglipuran and Besakih
Day 4 · Penglipuran and Besakih
Visit the traditional village of Penglipuran, then Besakih, Bali's mother temple, with some 30 temples set on seven terraces up the mountainside. In the late afternoon stop at Goa Lawah, a temple at the mouth of a cave full of bats.
Bedugul and Jatiluwih
Day 5 · Bedugul and Jatiluwih
Start at Taman Ayun, the royal temple of the old Mengwi kingdom, then head up to Lake Beratan and Ulun Danu temple in the cool highlands. After lunch and a local market, walk among the Jatiluwih rice terraces and finish at Batukaru temple on the slopes of the mountain.
Ubud
Day 6 · Ubud
A day to spend as you please in Ubud, the island's centre for arts and crafts, where temple festivals take place almost every day.
Gili Trawangan
Day 7 · Gili Trawangan
Transfer to Padang Bai for the speedboat to Gili Trawangan, where a cidomo, the island's horse cart, takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Days 8 to 10 · Gili Trawangan
Three days with nothing planned. Relax on the beach, try water sports if you feel like it, and watch the sun go down over the sea.
Legian
Day 11 · Legian
A cidomo takes you to the port for the speedboat back to Padang Bai, then a shared transfer to your hotel in Legian. The afternoon is free.
Day 12 · Legian
Breakfast and a free day, with your room until 6 pm, before your transfer to the airport.

A short private trip to Bali's quieter east coast. Spend the first morning on a reef restoration platform off Padangbai and snorkelling the Blue Lagoon, sleep in Candidasa, then visit Tenganan, a village of the Bali Aga, before heading back.

Yogyakarta → Bromo → Banyuwangi → Ubud → Kuta → Gili Trawangan → Kuta
Start in Yogyakarta with Borobudur, the Sultan's palace and Prambanan, then take the train east for sunrise over Bromo and a dawn climb to the Ijen crater. Cross to Bali for temples and rice terraces from Ubud and Kuta, and finish with three free nights on Gili Trawangan.

Fly across from Bali and settle into one hotel in Senggigi for four nights. From there, private day trips take you to the island's craft villages and southern beaches, out by boat to three small Gili islands for snorkelling, and north to a waterfall in the hills.
