Ceremonies at Anantara Koh Yao Yai usually take place on the beach, with the limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay rising out of the water behind you. Many couples time the vows for sunset, then move a few steps to the beachfront lawn, which the resort sets with marquees for evening receptions, or to the garden for an open-air dinner. Western ceremonies are led by an English or Chinese speaking celebrant, and Thai ceremonies follow traditional rites such as the exchange of floral garlands.

Your stay

All 148 keys face the sea or garden. Suites start at 90 square metres in low-rise buildings, family suites add bunks and slides, and Lagoon Pool Villas look over the organic garden and rice field. Beachfront Pool Villas sit on the sand, and 366 square metre Sea View Pool Penthouses have upper-deck infinity pools, useful for the wedding party.

The resort is well set up for longer celebrations. A Haldi can take place by the main pool, guests can gather under a marquee on the lawn for the evening, and a Baraat can lead to a beachfront ceremony the next day. A dedicated wedding specialist and the culinary team plan each event with you. Ceremonies here are symbolic and not legally registered, so most couples complete the legal formalities at home.

Between events, guests can take day trips to Hong Island or Phi Phi, charter the My SKY yacht, join a Spice Spoons Thai cooking class or book the Moroccan hammam at Anantara Spa. Families use the Kids' Club and the family pool with 4 water slides, while the Tranquillity Pool stays adults only.

From Phuket International Airport it is about 20 minutes by car to the private lounge at Laem Sai Pier, then a 35-minute boat ride to the resort jetty. From Krabi, a boat from Thalane Pier takes about 30 minutes.
