Australian blogger, Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl is the ultimate fashion It Girl. She boasts 1.7 million Instagram followers, the Shorty Award for Best In Fashion and the most extravagant wedding on the edge of the Earth in New Zealand.
She fell in love with photographer Luke Shadbolt, whom she met through mutual friends at a Christmas Party. She told Vogue, “We both grew up on the Central Coast in NSW, Australia, which is a small seaside town, so it felt odd that we hadn’t met before.
“But, as soon as we did, there was instant chemistry.”
Eight years later, Luke proposed on a spontaneous trip to Tokyo, on a little boat on a lake with cascading cherry blossom petals. Romantic movie scenes, eat your heart out.
Their wedding featured an all-natural vibe surrounded by mountains, a helicopter to get guests through all the heights, and sweet potato fries as a late-night snack for the partygoers on the dance floor.
Of the 5 different outfits that Nicole chose, she wore a custom Maticevski pantsuit for welcome drinks, a custom Valentino dress and veil for the ceremony (and thanks to New Zealand’s strong mountain winds, her veil managed to fly off), a custom Oscar de la Renta dress for the reception, a white satin Dion Lee dress for the after-party, and a custom Michael Lo Sordo dress for brunch the following day.
Talk about the best three days of your life.
