British television series ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ hosts the elaborate Neighbours-themed wedding of Adam, 33, and Rachel, 29. Adam was given £14,000 (roughly $23,000 Australian dollars) to plan a wedding solely by himself – while Rachel had no say!
As he found the Neighbours wedding of 80’s characters Scott and Charlene (Kylie Minogue), to be quite romantic Adam decided it was the perfect theme for his wedding. He told cameras “I want to recreate the magical occasion of when Scott and Charlene got married on Neighbours. I just find the idea of Kylie and Jason to be so romantic.” Whether his wedding captured an overwhelming 19.6 million viewers like the original is another note, but it definitely left him in tears.
Rachel’s bridesmaid dresses were created to idealise the Australia flag, while her gown, hair and makeup, resembled Kylie Minogue’s character, Charlene. To her surprise, Rachel was then driven to her church ceremony in an ice-cream van!
Upon arrival, she was greeted by family and friends inside a church filled with inflatable crocodiles and didgeridoos. Walking down the aisle to the iconic wedding scene song Suddenly by Angry Anderson, Rachel was faced with another surprise – Adam had bleached his hair blonde and attached a mullet!
