After his very first Live Takeover on our Wedded Wonderland Instagram last weekend, we caught up with Gideon to discuss Tuscan weddings, the Italian Garden theme of Karla and Oliver’s wedding, and how he incorporates sustainability in his weddings.

What was the couple’s initial vision for the wedding?
“Our bride and groom’s love for gorgeous sceneries and great food gave way to the Italian Garden theme for this wedding. They are both spirited and enjoy celebration so an outdoor wedding in a breathtaking landscape was in order and Tuscany ticks all the boxes for what they needed for the venue. As for the rest, the team of All-Filipino suppliers took care of that.”

How did you bring the Italian Garden theme to life?
“When we saw the initial photos of Borgo San Luigi, we knew that giving it a more simplistic yet sophisticated approach would be best. Our bride is known for her elegant aesthetic and using a subdued yet monochromatic element would best suit her and the place they chose for this intimate wedding. We simply made sure that we highlighted the best parts of the estate with subtle hues of white florals against the vibrancy of greeneries surrounding us.”

“Despite the rainy weather during the first few days, we were blessed with the sunny weather Tuscany is known for on the day of the wedding. This alongside the beautiful floral arrangement and the greeneries, gave the ceremony and test of the shoot the perfect lighting we needed.”

“As for the intimate dinner reception, we brought the same design inspiration and allowed the sumptuous Italian feast prepared by the couple to stand out. This outdoor set-up did not want lighting as we went all out with overhead hanging chandeliers that truly elevated a simple garden dinner.”

How did all the elements come together?
“It went exactly as what our bride and groom wanted. An intimate celebration that highlights the best features of their Tuscan destination wedding while making it personalized with touches of design that are made entirely for them.”

What was your favorite part of working on this wedding?
“The bride and groom brought all Filipino suppliers to Tuscany to create their dream wedding. We had a lot of fun sourcing the things we needed in the local stores and markets. Consider it a fun field trip we all had to give Karla and Oliver the best days of their lives.”

Which wedding trends do you think we’ll start to see more of in 2025?
“We will definitely see more destination weddings on the horizon. The world is not running out of places to celebrate your dream wedding. So choose a place, and allow a spectacular team like us to truly make it the best for you!”
