Joe proposed to Francesca at sunset during their traditional anniversary picnic overlooking the Sydney Harbour bridge. “I didn’t think anything of it and thought it would end just like the others, low key exchanging of gifts and stopping for dessert on the way home. Instead Joe waited till sunset and pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. We both couldn’t tell you exactly what words were exchanged as we both just cried,” Francesca told Wedded Wonderland. So sweet!
As they both come from large Italian families, the wedding day was one huge and traditional celebration. “We had many emotional moments to the day, starting from the morning. Joe and I had written one another letters. i couldn’t keep it together, I had to get my sisters to read it out for me to the moment. And I will never forget the moment I saw Joe at the end of the aisle … it was so hard to keep it together,” Francesca told Wedded Wonderland.
The couple’s reception party began with Canapés and Entrée’s in the lush Miramare Gardens, greeting and socialising with their guests before making an entrance into the reception room. The rest of the night was filled with amazing food, dancing and laughter with many fun and emotional moments throughout. One of the funniest moment was Joe’s gifts to Francesca at the end of his speech, presenting Francesca with a giant pasta pot to prepare her for marriage!
