Chloë Grace Moretz Break Bridal Rules: Blue Dress, Cowboy Suit, and A Secret Wedding

Chloë Grace Moretz Break Bridal Rules: Blue Dress, Cowboy Suit, and A Secret Wedding

Their Labor Day weekend wedding wasn’t about “one dress to rule them all.” It was about showing how modern women can flip bridal fashion into something far more personal, stylish, and fun. Instead of doing the whole “let’s shop together” thing, they kept it old-school romantic and didn’t see each other’s dresses until the big day.

Two brides, two visions. For Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison, bridal fashion didn’t mean matching looks. It meant walking down the aisle in outfits that represented them best.

For Chloë, a longtime Louis Vuitton ambassador, there was no question who she wanted to design her gown. When she reached out to creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, he not only agreed to create her wedding dress but insisted on designing Harrison’s as well.

Chloë’s look was a modern spin on “something blue”: a dreamy, sheer ice-blue gown that was soft, fashion-forward, and just subversive enough to make tradition feel cool instead of cliché. For the after-party, she swapped into a tailored jacket and trousers inspired by a Vuitton runway look, a sharp androgynous contrast that let her tattoos peek through.

Kate, on the other hand, leaned into modern romance with an edge. Her gown featured a corseted bustier and skirt dripping in floral embroidery, paired with a birdcage veil layered beneath a cathedral-length veil. It was structured and dramatic yet still timeless, the kind of look that stands apart without feeling cookie-cutter.

What made the fashion so powerful wasn’t just that both dresses were stunning, but that they proved couples get to set their own rules. Two brides doesn’t have to mean two versions of the same gown. It can be blue and ivory, tailored and romantic, soft and structured. The contrast was the magic.

For brides everywhere, this wedding is basically a style manifesto: wear what makes you feel most like yourself, whether that’s a gown, a suit, sequined separates, or something entirely original.
