Where to be careful: OpenAI's own help center says ChatGPT can sound confident even when it's wrong, and ChatGPT shows "ChatGPT can make mistakes. Check important info." under the chat box. What is Claude good at for wedding planning?

Claude from Anthropic is a strong all-rounder with a generous Free plan. According to Anthropic's pricing page, Free accounts get:

Claude is especially good with long, nuanced writing: a ceremony script that blends two traditions, a gentle message to a relative who isn't invited, or a welcome letter for guests traveling from abroad. Like any general assistant, it doesn't sit inside your seating plan or budget, so you'll carry its output across yourself.

What is Gemini good at for wedding planning?

Gemini is Google's assistant, and its big advantage is Google's own apps. Through Connected Apps, Gemini can work with Gmail, Drive and Google Maps, so you can ask it to find a vendor's quote in your inbox or summarize a contract saved in Drive. Google says Gemini can also use public Google Maps information without connecting your account, which helps when you're comparing locations.
