The romance of a city wedding, set against a backdrop of breathtaking architecture, is simply undeniable. And for a sophisticated bride dreaming of a truly iconic celebration, London beckons.
Meet Caitlin and Freddie, our darling British couple who said “I do” in the heart of this enchanting metropolis. Their wedding was a love letter to the 1930s, infused with modern touches and an undeniable royal flair.
Caitlin and Freddie effortlessly wove together contemporary trends with classic traditions, creating a day that was uniquely theirs. This is the wedding inspiration you need if you’re a bride who adores both the old and the new.
Intimate Vows in London
Intimate and close to home, the Marylebone register office was the perfect setting for Caitlin and Freddie to exchange vows with their nearest and dearest as witnesses.
Strolling arm-in-arm through London’s charming streets, the couple radiated love and style, capturing the essence of their chic city wedding.
Their photographer, the renowned Kerry Ann Duffy, perfectly encapsulated the day’s magic, sharing, “Guests sipped champagne at Claridge’s, eagerly awaiting Caitlin and Freddie’s arrival after their stylish city shoot. It was a beautifully unique touch that made the day truly unforgettable.”
A Glamorous Reception at Claridge's Ballroom
“Caitlin and Freddie knew they wanted a London city wedding. A city close to their hearts and where they feel at home—it was always going to be the centre of their celebration,” says their photographer, Kerry.
The iconic Claridge’s, a 5-star haven in Mayfair, immediately stole the couple’s hearts. It was the only venue they considered, and it’s easy to see why when you glimpse the photos of their stunning celebration.
Claridge’s Ballroom provided a breathtaking backdrop for the reception, where family and close friends gathered to celebrate Caitlin and Freddie. The ballroom’s luxurious 1930s design, with its marble and mirrors, created a regal atmosphere that perfectly fit their London-based wedding.
“They wanted to keep the styling simple yet embrace the stunning 1930s inspiration of the Ballroom,” adds Duffy.
The Dress: A Model Bride’s Dream
For a glamorous ballroom affair, a floor-length champagne silk gown is the ultimate embodiment of elegance. Photographer Kerry Ann Duffy shares that Caitlin, with her modeling background, had a clear vision for her dress and assembled a dream team to bring it to life.
“She chose the perfect glam squad to ensure she looked both polished and naturally beautiful,” explains Kerry. “A change of dress for the evening was essential; why settle for one dress when you can have two?” We’re completely on board – multiple dresses for your wedding day are always a brilliant idea!
The reception and after-party dresses were stunning creations by the brilliant Danielle Frankel, a designer celebrated for her fresh, modern approach that’s redefining bridal fashion.
Caitlin’s bridesmaids added to the elegance in sophisticated black gowns, creating a stunning contrast that highlighted the bride and her maids of honor beautifully.
Candles and City Lights
Candles, white floral arrangements, and a clean, minimalist colour palette set the scene for this modern wedding celebration, infused with timeless touches that would evoke romance in any setting. But within the regal grandeur of Claridge’s, these elements truly shone.
“Candles, candles, and more candles,” says Duffy. “Flooding the reception area with the light from a Thousand flames. A real wow moment which just got better and better as the night drew in and made for some incredible shots. Simple, elegant design touches and a stage totally covered in gorgeous florals and foliage.”
An After-Party to Rival Gatsby
After tears of joy and heartfelt speeches filled the room with emotion, the evening at the Claridge’s Hotel was followed by live performances, the sultry sounds of saxophones, and an energetic crowd igniting the dance floor.
“A super fun couple, music was always key to them and having an incredible band and DJ was a must. In fact, they had trouble keeping guests in their seats. Some might say a party to rival Gatsby!” Duffy recalls from that night.
The elegant venue transformed into a vibrant celebration, with Caitlin and Freddie as the radiant stars of a spectacular night celebrating their love.
