Bridal Trend 2017: ’70’s Revival

What comes around goes around, and the saying has never been more true than when looking at designer Naeem Khan’s creations. His gowns are peppered with 70s flair, think: fringing and print, boho suede and bell sleeves all catching our eye.

Pretty in Bell-Sleeve Dresses

The bell sleeves are back! Think angelic temptress and devilish saint all at once with gorgeous A-line silhouettes and a forest of embroidery that creates a retro and contemporary look.

Boho ‘Happy Day’ Dresses

The chic bohemian air has taken the fashion world by storm with its lovely designs and style solutions. Have you noticed the flowing fabrics and floral prints prancing down the runway? If not, the comeback of 70’s embroidery is a common sight now, especially the trend of 3D appliques combined with groovy yet sensational floral lace.

What-the-Folk Embroidery

It’s just another 70s theme creating down-to-earth simplicity. Naeem Khan channels the folk decorative outlet in naive motifs and handicraft floral touches – whats the difference? Colour! The mood may be primitive but the luscious warmth of yellow contrasted with the coldness of blue frost is sublime.

Go the Fringe Detailing

Enhancing the retro concept, Khan revisited one of the upsurging and hottest motifs: the fringe. Utilising them in the most extravagant and show-stopping ways, the designer embellished everything from the sleeves to the hem. Fallen head-over-heels yet?
