Your wedding website is the first thing most guests see. It's where they find the date, book a hotel, check the dress code and, most importantly, tell you whether they're coming. Pick the right wedding website builder and your RSVPs arrive organized. Pick the wrong one and you'll spend March copying names from one spreadsheet into another.
We compared eight wedding website builders couples ask us about most: Wonderland Studio, Zola, Joy, The Knot, Minted, Riley & Grey, Appy Couple and Squarespace. We looked at price, design range, how much the RSVP form can collect, matching stationery, registries, mobile apps and, the question most reviews skip, what happens to your RSVPs after a guest presses submit.
Wonderland Studio is made by Wedded Wonderland, the publisher of this guide. We've compared it as fairly as we can, using each company's own published information, checked when this guide was last updated.
We judged every wedding website builder on the same seven questions, using each company's own website, pricing page and help center:
Price: what it costs to publish, and what costs extra (custom domains, text messages, premium designs).
Designs: how many templates, how editable they are, and whether any are made for specific cultures and traditions.
RSVPs: meal choices, plus-ones, multiple events, deadlines and custom questions.
Guest list: whether replies update your list automatically.
Connected planning: whether the same guest data reaches your seating chart, menu and day-of run sheet without retyping.
Registry and stationery: whether you can collect gifts or order matching invitations.
Guest experience: mobile apps, password protection and whether guests need to sign up.
Here's the ranking at a glance. Details for each follow.
Rank | Builder | Best for | Price to publish |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | Wonderland Studio | Best overall: a site connected to every planning tool | 7-day free trial, then a paid subscription |
2 | Zola | Free site with matching stationery and registry | Free (custom domains from $17.99) |
3 | Joy | Free site with a guest app on iOS and Android | Free (optional upgrades) |
4 | The Knot | Free site inside a big planning ecosystem | Free (custom domain $19.99 for one year) |
5 | Minted | Artist-designed sites that match your paper | Free (custom URL $15 a year) |
6 | Riley & Grey | Luxury, editorial design | $39 a month or $299 a year |
7 | Appy Couple | A branded guest app and website together | $99 a year or $12 a month |
8 | Squarespace | Couples who want a general-purpose site builder | 14-day free trial, then a paid plan |
Many wedding website builders treat the site as the finished product. Wonderland Studio treats it as the front door to your whole plan. It's one of eleven connected tools in a single account: Website, Guests, Seating, Budget, Timeline, Tasks, Vendors, Calendar, an AI Planning Assistant, Menu, and Decor & Moodboard. When a guest RSVPs on your wedding website, that answer updates your guest list, your seating plan and your caterer's meal counts at the same time.
This is where Studio stands apart. Instead of a long gallery of general layouts, it offers six templates built around how different cultures actually celebrate, each pre-filled with the ceremonies, accommodation notes and FAQs your guests will need:
Marigold & Gold: South Asian and Indian weddings, set up for a multi-day celebration with mehndi, sangeet, baraat and pheras.
Emerald & Oud: Middle Eastern and Arab weddings, with the henna night, the nikah and a zaffe.
Double Happiness: East Asian and Chinese weddings, with a tea ceremony and banquet.
Coastal Editorial: Mediterranean and European weddings, with a church ceremony and a long lunch.
Heritage & Bloom: African and Afro-Caribbean weddings, with a traditional ceremony, a white wedding and jumping the broom.
Modern Classic: a timeless Western layout for the ceremony, the toast and the first dance.
Prefer to start from nothing? There's a blank canvas too. Whichever you pick, everything stays editable: content, colors and layout. You can edit, reorder or hide sections and upload your own photos.

For a three-day Indian wedding, that head start matters. Rather than writing a schedule page from scratch and explaining what a sangeet is to your partner's college friends, you begin with the events already laid out and simply change the times, venues and words.
Studio's built-in RSVP form handles the details that usually break simple forms:
Meal choices: guests pick their meal as they reply.
Named plus-ones: up to five named companion slots per invitation, so you know who is coming, not just how many.
Per-event RSVPs: guests can say yes to the reception and no to the welcome drinks, which is essential for multi-day weddings.
Automatic deadline: set an RSVP date and the form closes itself when it passes.
No accounts: guests reply without signing up for anything.
You control a Draft/Live toggle, preview your wedding website before it goes public and share it on a simple slug-based link. The website dashboard shows confirmed, pending and declined counts plus page views, and you can export every RSVP, with meals and plus-ones, as a CSV.
This is where a connected suite earns its keep. In our sample wedding of 56 invited guests, 48 confirmed and 2 declined. The guest list updated itself. The seating planner then offered exactly those 48 confirmed guests to seat, and one click on "Fill remaining seats" placed all 48. The table-by-table seating export carried each guest's meal and allergies to the caterer, and the seating QR code let the same guests find their table on the day with no app or login.

Be clear-eyed before you choose it. Studio has no gift registry or cash fund, so you'll link to a registry elsewhere. Its planning tools also come to your phone through Wedded Wonderland's companion app, Wedded Pro, on iOS and Android. There's one login per wedding rather than separate partner logins. And there's no published price: you get a 7-day free trial with full access, then a paid subscription. If your trial lapses, nothing is deleted; the dashboard simply locks until you subscribe.
Here's every Studio feature that touches your wedding website and the guests it serves.

Yes, Zola is one of the strongest free options. Its wedding websites are free to create and publish, and it offers over 600 templates. The only paid extra Zola lists for the website is a custom domain, with prices starting at $17.99. Guests can RSVP online, you can ask for meal preferences, and you can password-protect the site.
Zola's real strength is coordination. It says its invitations and wedding website are designed to go together, right down to fonts, colors and motifs, and its registry sits right inside the site so guests can shop without leaving. There's a free iOS app for managing things on the go.
Choose Zola if: you want a free site, a large registry and paper that matches the website.
Choose Studio instead if: your wedding follows South Asian, Middle Eastern, East Asian, African or Mediterranean traditions and you want those ceremonies set up for you, or you want RSVPs flowing straight into seating, menu and run sheet tools in the same account.
Joy is excellent value. Its pricing page lists the planning dashboard, wedding website, all-in-one registry, mobile app, unlimited guests, online RSVP and multiple editor accounts at $0. Joy says it offers hundreds of free templates, with color, font and even custom CSS options.
The RSVP form is flexible: meal preferences, plus-one limits, follow-up questions and multiple events, with replies tracked automatically in the guest list. Joy's companion app runs on iOS and Android, and guests can use it to RSVP and upload photos to a shared gallery. Joy also advertises zero-fee cash funds. Paid extras include custom domains, premium stationery designs and Messaging Plus, a one-time purchase for text messages to US and Canadian numbers.
Choose Joy if: you want a genuinely free site, a guest app and a registry.
Choose Studio instead if: you want culture-specific templates and a site that feeds a seating planner, menu planner, costed decor list and run sheet in the same account.
The Knot's help center confirms its wedding websites are completely free, with an optional paid custom domain ($19.99 for one year, according to The Knot's own FAQ). Every site includes RSVPs, and replies populate your guest list automatically, including meal choices. The Knot says most of its designs come with coordinating invitations, save the dates and thank-you cards.
Its biggest advantage is the ecosystem around the site: a free app, a guest list manager, registry tools and a huge vendor marketplace.
Choose The Knot if: you want a free site inside a large planning platform with a big vendor directory.
Choose Studio instead if: you want templates written for your cultural traditions and RSVPs that carry through to seating exports and place cards.
Minted is the design lover's choice. Its free wedding websites use artist-designed templates that match Minted's invitations, and Minted says all its wedding invitations are designed with a matching website, RSVP cards, menus, place cards and more. Free sites live on a .minted.us address, and a custom URL costs $15 a year.
The RSVP tools cover the essentials: separate RSVPs for each event, private events visible only to invited guests, multiple-choice questions like entrée options, and responses for every member of a party. Minted's address book can print guest names and addresses directly onto your envelopes. You can also link your retail registries and add cash funds through PayPal or Venmo.
Choose Minted if: stationery is the heart of your wedding style.
Choose Studio instead if: you want the website to feed a full planning suite, not just your envelopes.
Riley & Grey is the premium pick. You can design your wedding website, invitations and registry free, then pay only when you publish: $39 a month or $299 for a year. A $39 Reserve plan holds your domain and design until you're ready, and that $39 counts toward your membership. A custom domain is included, as are digital invitations with no per-send charge. Cash gifts carry a 2.95% transaction fee, which the gift-giver usually pays.
Choose Riley & Grey if: you want a high-end editorial look and are happy to pay for it.
Choose Studio instead if: you'd rather your subscription cover seating, budget, menu, decor and a run sheet as well as the website.
Appy Couple bundles a wedding website, a guest app and digital invites into one plan for $99 a year or $12 a month, with hundreds of designs you can change any time. Custom domains cost extra (most are about US$19.99 a year). Its RSVP tools include custom forms, family groups where one person replies for everyone, separate invitee lists per event, reminders and push notifications when a guest responds.
Choose Appy Couple if: you want guests to have a dedicated, branded app experience.
Choose Studio instead if: you want the guest list to drive seating, menus and a costed decor plan without leaving one account.
Squarespace is a general website builder with wedding templates. It offers a customizable RSVP form, cash gift registries or links to other registries, a Zola registry integration, photo and video galleries, and email templates that match your site. There's a 14-day free trial, and annual plans include a free custom domain for the first year.
It's a great fit if you love design control and might keep the site afterwards. Before you commit, check that the form covers what your guest list needs, such as replies per event or named plus-ones.
Choose Squarespace if: you want total design freedom and are comfortable building pages yourself.
Choose Studio instead if: you want a wedding-specific RSVP and everything downstream of it.
This table covers the five wedding website builders couples compare most often. Every competitor detail comes from that company's own pages.

The pattern is clear. Zola, Joy, The Knot and Minted are free and strong on registries and matching paper. Wonderland Studio is the one that carries your RSVPs into every other part of the plan, and the one whose templates are built around specific cultural traditions, with the ceremonies already written in.

Wonderland Studio is the best fit. Multi-day weddings need three things most wedding website builders leave you to figure out: a schedule with several events, RSVPs per event, and guests who understand what each ceremony involves.
Studio's Marigold & Gold template starts with mehndi, sangeet, baraat and pheras on the page. Emerald & Oud starts with the henna night, nikah and zaffe. Double Happiness includes the tea ceremony and banquet. Heritage & Bloom covers a traditional ceremony, a white wedding and jumping the broom. Each comes with accommodation and FAQ sections written for that kind of celebration.
Then the rest of the suite follows through. The timeline supports multiple days with "Add Day", so your run sheet matches your wedding website. The menu planner tags dishes as halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan and more. Guest profiles record the country each guest is travelling from, their arrival and leaving times and accommodation notes, which is exactly what a destination or family-heavy wedding needs.
Not always. Joy, Zola, The Knot and Appy Couple all offer mobile apps, and if you want to manage things from your phone or give guests a dedicated app, that's a real advantage. Wonderland Studio covers both: its planning tools come to your phone through Wedded Wonderland's companion app, Wedded Pro, on iOS and Android, and your wedding website, RSVP form, timeline share link, moodboard share links and seating QR code all open in any phone browser, and guests never download anything or create an account. For many weddings, especially those with older relatives or guests flying in from abroad, "nothing to install" is the simpler experience.
Ask yourself three questions:
Do you need a registry on the same platform? If yes, Zola, Joy, The Knot or Minted will suit you. If you're happy to link a registry elsewhere, Studio is open to you.
Is your wedding multi-day or rooted in a specific tradition? If yes, start with Studio's culturally specific templates.
How much do you want to retype? If your RSVPs need to become a seating chart, caterer meal counts and place cards, choose a builder where that happens in one account.

Once you've chosen, the rest of your planning gets easier. Our guides to the wedding seating chart, the wedding day timeline and the wedding menu all pick up where your RSVPs leave off, and you can see every tool in our wedding planning tools guide.
