Danielle and Steve’s unforgettable wedding in Santorini will take your breath away!
“We basically handpicked our ultimate dream team and dumped them on an Island together with the most phenomenal backdrop – and got to call that our wedding!” the couple happily told Wedded Wonderland.
Their special day began with a dreamy ceremony at Dana Villas, located on the caldera in Santorini, facing one of the most famous sunsets in the world, with uninterrupted views of the entire island, making for some spectacular photos.
To the surprise of their guests, the couple held their reception party on the infinity pool rooftop at Rocabella Hotel. “We didn’t tell any of our guests (even bridal party) that the reception was at a different venue to the ceremony. We wanted to spoil our guests and keep a bit of a surprise element. This created more of a wow factor when they were transported to the Rocabella and walked into the venue to find it set up with mood lighting, white floral arrangements on a long banquet style table next to the infinity pool, Grecian style curtains swaying in the wind all while the sun was slowly setting over the horizon.” And it sure did look like a dream!
Reflecting back on their special day, the couple told Wedded Wonderland, “The aim was to create an unforgettable experience for our guests that had made the effort to travel to the other side of the world to be with us on our wedding day. Everyone was in holiday mode – relaxed and ready to celebrate. Having a destination wedding took away the common stressors associated with a wedding in Melbourne. Neither of us were stressed and the people that were able to come overseas were there because they genuinely wanted to be there and were excited to be part of the day.”
