A Met Gala Red Carpet Proposal

The Met Gala’s famed red carpet serves as a channel for love as well as fashion, we just know your hearts are going to melt at this public proposal!

On the Met Gala’s celebrity red carpet, New York City Commissioner Laurie Cumbo got engaged.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams just nominated her commissioner for the Department of Cultural Affairs. She previously served as an intern for the Met when she was 15 years old.

Laurie, like anyone else in the celebrity-studded throng, was taken aback when her now-finance went down on one knee and proposed.

She embraced and kissed her fiancée on the red carpet, which was filmed live on video by a stunned and teary-eyed woman. In the footage, the crowd can be heard cheering when she says “yes.”

Laurie informed cameras after the tears had stopped that the pair after being together for eight years and that they have a five-year-old kid… We told you, it’s just so heartwarming.
