James and Lauren’s held their stunningly unique wedding in Canandaigua Lake, a special place where the couple had shared many fond memories over the years, spending many summers with their families.
The day stated with a secret garden ceremony beneath a gorgeous structure draped in vines and flowers, and surrounded by chestnut trees and plants. The best start to the day came when the two flower girls were walking the couple’s adorable dog down the aisle, and the two leashes got all tangled up, with the flower girl’s mother having to untangle them! “It was hilarious and the best start to the wedding! I was standing back laughing so hard I almost started crying!” Lauren told Wedded Wonderland.
Wanting their reception to reflect the beautiful surrounds, and fit with the season, their wedding turned out to be nothing short of perfection! Being huge art lovers, the couple chose to display paintings from some of their favourite local artists, perfectly complementing their decor. The table’s were adorned in dark florals, grapes and various other fruits to reflect the vineyards and lush surrounds, and the entire place was lit up romantically with hundreds of tea lights strung from the ceilings, candles gracing the tables and chandeliers hanging from large trees placed inside.
Reflecting back on their special day, the couple told Wedded Wonderland, “We wouldn’t change anything but we would also never do it again! We built everything out from scratch in an empty field so it was a TON of work! However, it ensure that everything was just as we wanted!”
