A Fairytale Wedding At The Grounds Of Alexandria

It took Bernard several attempts to finally propose to his bride, Lauren. Lauren recalls the funny proposal story as:

“Bern threw my engagement ring into the shallow end of the pool as I was about to get in the water thinking this would be a romantic and unique proposal. The best bet is, he threw it in over his shoulder so he wasn’t exactly sure where it landed. I was oblivious to this and got in the water. He then spotted it, pointed to it and said to me “Careful, I think there is glass near your foot”. So, naturally, I swam away from where he was pointing. He then had to get in the water, find the ring himself and…surprise surprise, he tried again – throwing the ring into the water for a second time! After no luck once more, he finally proposed to me once I’d gotten out of the water and we watched the sunrise together.”

The two had a lush and fairytale wedding at The Grounds of Alexandria. The event was perfectly styled by The Grounds Floral by Silva. Lauren says,

“Silva the florist the Grounds of Alexandria is a magician. She created an absolute fairytale of a setting for us with hanging roses from the ceiling and the fountain, amongst the bougainvillea under the arbour. The thousands of fairy lights at The Grounds only added to this. Our wedding was all about having a big party, we kept formalities short, we ensured guests had cocktails on arrival and the dance floor/music was our biggest priority!”

Lauren says that despite all the wedding stress and planning that her wedding day was “one of the best days of my life. I love relieving it from our beautiful photos and videos.”
