Pharmacists Jeff and Diana were working in different clinical areas and their paths crossed. The two developed a strong friendship, their chemistry blossomed naturally and they had no doubt they were going to marry each other from the moment they met.
The moment Jeff proposed is something that Diana will never forget, surprising her with a trip to a private garden in the Macedon Ranges. A picnic setting with candles roses and paper lanterns between the trees was set up for the couple and where Jeff got down on one knee!
On the morning of the wedding, Jeff surprised Diana with a gift, a star map with an image of the night sky at the exact location and time that Diana will walk down the aisle with the heartfelt message “My beautiful Diana, under these stars I promise to handle your heart with care and treasure you always”. As Diana walked down the aisle, there was another surprise with a harpist playing one of the couple’s favourite songs “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”, an incredibly surreal and precious moment neither Jeff or Diana will ever forget.
As the daughter of a well-known dressmaker, it was so important and special that Diana’s mother made her dream bridal gown. Months of planning went into Diana’s beautiful and breathtaking fully beaded gown that featured a removable three metre overskirt. The gown was handmade and adorned with imported Italian tulle, glass beaded lace and hand embellished with thousands of Swarovski crystals. As the final touch to this princess ball gown, Diana had a custom made Stephanie Browne headpiece to compliment her perfect bridal gown.
The couple’s wedding was full of love, laughter, dancing and a celebration of cultures. The two were born and raised in Australia, however they wanted a mixture of a modern wedding with their family and cultural traditions to pay homage to their Chaldean heritage from Iraq.
The couple along with their 470 wedding guests shared emotions and many tears of joy and wrapped the night up with endless Chaldean and Arabic dancing.
