EJAE's wedding venue in Seoul held a memory that no amount of styling could recreate: it was once her grandparents' home. The KPop Demon Hunters star married composer Samuel Kim on October 17, 2026, returning to a place woven into her childhood for a celebration that brought together Korean traditions, sentimental family details and three custom bridal looks.
At Stage 28, the garden where EJAE once explored with her grandfather became the setting for one of the biggest milestones of her life. The property gave the wedding a personal history that extended well beyond the ceremony, while the glasshouse reception offered a contemporary counterpart to the memories held outdoors.
For couples hoping to bring the same thoughtfulness to their own celebrations, Wedded Concierge connects them with trusted venues, suppliers and wedding professionals who can help turn personal ideas into a cohesive wedding vision.

Stage 28 was an especially meaningful choice for EJAE and Samuel. The property once housed her grandparents, and she spent much of her childhood exploring its garden and walking through the nearby hills with her grandfather. After the house and grounds were transformed into an event venue, the location became a natural choice for a wedding that brought her past and future together.
The property already held another family wedding memory, too. EJAE's brother had married at Stage 28 before her, adding another chapter to the family's connection with the venue.
For the ceremony, the couple drew inspiration from the surrounding landscape, using shades of green and earthy tones that reflected EJAE's childhood memories of the garden. The approach allowed the natural setting to shape the design rather than compete with it.
Choosing a venue with personal significance can also give couples a meaningful starting point for their wedding aesthetic. In EJAE's case, the landscape already carried the memories that made the location special, making the styling feel connected to the setting rather than imposed upon it.

The wedding festivities began with a Paebaek ceremony and welcome party at Congdu50, a Korean fusion restaurant offering sweeping views of Seoul. Incorporating the traditional ceremony gave the couple an opportunity to honour their Korean heritage and share an important cultural experience with their families.
EJAE spoke about how special it was to include Korean wedding customs throughout the weekend, particularly because of what they meant to the people closest to them.
The decision to marry in Seoul also reflected a change in the couple's original plans. They had initially intended to hold their wedding in California in November 2026, but later chose Korea and moved the date forward to October.
That decision left them with approximately four months to organise the celebration. The timeline coincided with the extraordinary success of KPop Demon Hunters, which brought EJAE a demanding schedule of professional commitments. She described the planning process as hectic, but credited teamwork with helping everything come together.
The resulting celebration connected the couple's life in Brooklyn with their Korean heritage, giving the wedding a sense of continuity across the different places and experiences that shaped their relationship.
EJAE's bridal wardrobe was a highlight of the celebration, with three designer looks taking her from the ceremony to the reception and finally the dance floor.
For the ceremony, she collaborated with Danielle Frankel on a custom tulle gown that combined classic bridal elements with a more unconventional silhouette. The strapless design featured a sculptural bubbled hem and a nude chiffon layer, creating a light, airy finish.
EJAE had long admired Frankel's contemporary approach to bridalwear and wanted a gown that felt ethereal, modern and chic without losing its connection to traditional wedding dressing. The resulting look made a statement through its construction rather than relying on elaborate accessories.
Her jewellery carried the day's most personal fashion detail. EJAE wore heirloom pieces passed down from her grandmother to her mother, bringing another generation of family history into a wedding already shaped by childhood memories.
For the reception, she changed into a custom, body-skimming chiffon gown by Zac Posen. The dress retained the softness of her ceremony look while introducing the sparkle she wanted for the evening. Later, she changed into a shimmering Milla Nova mini for dancing, giving her final look a more playful energy.
Each outfit served a different purpose, allowing the bride to move naturally between the romance of the garden ceremony, the glamour of the reception and the celebrations that followed.

Samuel's wedding wardrobe received just as much consideration. The groom wore a bespoke double-breasted tuxedo made by Bhambi's Custom Tailors in New York, crafted from Loro Piana fabric.
For the reception, he changed into a custom white tuxedo designed by Zac Posen to coordinate with EJAE's second gown. The lighter look offered a contemporary alternative to traditional evening tailoring while keeping the couple's outfits visually connected.
Their coordinated reception ensembles demonstrated how couples can complement each other's style without matching every detail. The result was a consistent look for the evening that still allowed each outfit to stand on its own.

Following the garden ceremony, the celebration moved into Stage 28's glasshouse. EJAE envisioned soft fabrics and flowing drapes transforming the space into an ethereal setting for dinner and dancing.
The glasshouse held a different meaning from the garden. While the outdoor setting represented her childhood, the reception space symbolised the life she had built and the dreams that were finally becoming reality. After years of dedication to music, the recognition surrounding KPop Demon Hunters had made this period feel almost surreal.
The evening was filled with speeches in both English and Korean, alongside dinner and music selected by the newlyweds. Their wedding band, After Eight, performed throughout the reception, keeping the atmosphere lively as guests moved onto the dance floor.
Korean street food stalls outdoors offered another way for guests to refuel between dances, adding a relaxed element to the evening. EJAE and Samuel continued celebrating in Itaewon with a smaller group after the main reception, extending the festivities beyond the venue.
For a wedding with such carefully considered design, the emphasis on enjoying the evening was equally important. The couple had made a conscious effort to remain present throughout the celebrations, focusing on each other and the people who had travelled to be with them.
EJAE and Samuel's relationship began in May 2017, when a mutual friend arranged a songwriting session at Samuel's home studio. Their shared love of anime and music helped establish a connection that eventually developed into a romance.
After eight years together, Samuel proposed on June 1, 2025, at a Brooklyn park that held memories of their life together and their late dog, Honey. With help from EJAE's best friend, he arranged a picnic featuring photographs of the couple and their beloved pet.
EJAE had suspected that a proposal might be coming, but the thoughtful gesture still moved her to tears.
Their engagement came shortly before KPop Demon Hunters changed the course of EJAE's professional life. The film's success brought new opportunities and a demanding schedule, meaning the couple had to adapt their wedding plans to accommodate a particularly busy period.
Despite the compressed timeline, their Seoul wedding brought together the details that mattered most to them: family, heritage, personal style and the people who had supported them throughout their relationship.
EJAE and Samuel's celebration brought childhood memories into the present while making room for the life they are building together. The family connection to Stage 28, the traditional Korean ceremonies and the heirloom jewellery gave the day its personal foundation, while the custom designer outfits and glasshouse reception introduced a contemporary perspective.
The wedding also offered a useful reminder for couples planning their own celebrations. A venue can be beautiful, but a genuine connection to its history or setting can make the experience feel even more meaningful.
For EJAE, returning to her grandparents' former home meant that the wedding was tied to memories that had existed long before the guest list, the dresses or the reception design were decided. That personal connection was what made Stage 28 the right place to begin married life with Samuel.
