This is the most controversial wedding of the week – A $100 million Indian wedding has the country in in an uproar

Photos have finally been released of an Indian tycoon’s daughter’s $60 million wedding ( £59 million) which was held on Wednesday.

The former politician, now mining boss Gali Janardhan Reddy took over a palace and flew in Brazilian dancers to give his daughter the wedding of her dreams, despite the rest of the county suffering from poverty.

There was an estimate 50,000 guests at Bangalore Palace in Southern India for the Hindu ceremony. The invitations came in a gold-plated box complete with an LED screen in the lid.

The bride and groom wore a series of expensive outfits throughout the celebrations and had a specially-made music video in which they are filmed lip-syncing to a song composed especially for them and posing to a backdrop of five white horses.

The bride’s wedding sari cost a whopping $3.35 million and she wore jewellery worth $16 million.

To prepare for the week-long celebrations, eight Bollywood directors were hire to create backdrops that looked like Hindu temples.

Gali Janardhan Reddy has been fiercely criticised for using ‘black money’ to fund the occasion. He was recently released from a gaol sentence of three years for corruption charges.
