Remi and Matthew’s story began back in 2011, during their Year 12 adventures. Fast forward to October 2015, and they embarked on their very first official date. Initially, they aimed for elegant dinners, but inevitably, they found themselves dancing until the wee hours on Chapel Street, sipping those notorious blue drinks at Revellers. Ah, young love!

The Proposal

The proposal on March 18, 2022, was a day Remi will never forget. She had just arrived home from work, and little did she know that Matt had finished work early that day and been home for hours. As she walked down their driveway toward the front door, she heard their song, “Shut Up and Dance” playing. ‘Oh great, Matt must be cleaning!’ she thought to herself, as they would often play the song to make household chores less tedious. When Remi opened the door, she was met with an array of photos hanging from the ceiling, and a nervous Matt standing at the end of the display. After she made her way through their treasured memories from the last six and a half years together, Matt dropped to one knee, and she said YES!

The Wedding Venue

Remi and Matthew’s wedding was nothing short of perfection. Warm and sunny weather showcased the beauty of Lindenderry’s gardens, and sharing the moment with family and friends made it truly special. Choosing Lindenderry as their venue was, hands down, their best decision. The long, grand aisle lined by beautiful trees and surrounded by rose bushes and the vineyard caught their attention when Remi and Matt first visited. This particular location made for an unforgettable ceremony backdrop!

The reception location offered generous space and was quite the blank canvas, allowing the couple to make it their own. They loved the purpose built recess in the ceiling, which allowed their florist to install a stunning large floral arrangement on the day.

The couple also opted for both a videographer and photographer, ensuring no moment went uncaptured. The DJ kept the dance floor alive, and a saxophonist added that perfect live touch.

Tradition, Reimagined

Remi and Matthew put their own spin on wedding traditions. They skipped the bouquet and garter toss but kept the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” They even modernized their ceremony music, bringing some Bridgerton vibes to the aisle.

Every part of their wedding day holds a special place in their hearts. A particularly funny moment during dinner had guests belting out Aerosmith’s “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” with passion!

Contrary to advice, Remi and Matthew put effort into crafting homemade limoncello as wedding favors. It was a hit and added a pop of color to their tables as well!
