This Couple got Married under a Fairy-lit Canopy

Racquela and Michael wedded in early March this year after surviving three wedding postponements. The pair celebrated an exotic ceremony at Kantara House after a serious of unfortunate events, but as we know Fairies, love conquers all.

Racquela and Michael met at work but didn’t start dating until Michael moved to another job years later. The two started their relationship 21st century style with the classic liking of random Instagram pics… And the rest is history.

Michael’s attentiveness when browsing in a jewellery store with Racquela lead to a very sweet concept for an engagement ring. He took note of the rings she liked and combined all the special aspects of each into her perfect engagement ring. So cute!

He popped the question in July of 2019 which took Racquela completely by surprise.

In their fourth attempt at getting wedded, the couple certainly didn’t have an easy breeze. On the day before their wedding, flash-flooding severed the chances of their wedding taking place with roads closed and an SES alert on the road to their venue. Our hearts would’ve sunk with you!

Luckily the couple were able to proceed with the celebrations despite the poor weather. With quick problem solving by using their air-bnb as their photo location and taking photos outside when the rain stopped. Props to their photographer…

Limited access to the chapel due to flooding meant getting married under a fairy light canopy.

The couple made the most of every bad situation and turned out to be the only couple to date to get married under the fairy light canopy. Did someone say Amazon jungle vibes?

Racquela and Michael’s favourite moments were the first look that felt so emotional and surreal before the magnitude of the wedding hit them and of course the reception where all the fun is. Being surrounded by their nearest and dearest on their big day, hearing the speeches and dancing the night away are all moment the couple will cherish forever.

Advice from the bride:

“I’d say to take time with your partner, not necessarily for a first look but just a moment of just you two to savour a moment here and there. I’d also say, not everything does go to plan, but it’s important to remember it’s your one day, so enjoy it in whatever form it comes in.”
