High school sweethearts Mariza and My have been together for 14 years, been married in a civil ceremony, celebrated anniversaries and have had a love that has had endured it all. After years of trying to plan a wedding where the two families could be together, it wasn’t until a sweet proposal at Disneyland, right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, that it all started to properly come together.
With simplicity and meaningful intention the main goal, the couple incorporated geodes, geometric prisms, and some of their favourite pop culture references. Together with the grey and rose gold colour palette, and crystal quartz decor, a fun and light atmosphere was created for family and friends to enjoy.
“Our guestbook was a nod to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, we had Game of Throne’s inspired faux fur pelts as part of the decor and a rose gold dragon egg as a case for our rings. We also snuck in a few Harry Potter symbols.”
Before the ceremony could begin, the couple shared a ‘first look’ moment, where emotions flew high and they both couldn’t help but shed a few tears.
“As magical as our first look was, our ceremony was the most heartfelt moment for us. We wrote our own vows and one would think that after 14 years together, there isn’t much to say, but that was not the case at all. This day marked a new chapter in the already wonderful life we’ve grown.”
The night wasn’t complete, however, until Mariza sung one of her and My’s favourite song, which she reproduced with the help of one of her bridesmaids. It was the perfect addition to the wedding, and certainly one the bride and groom would be unlikely to forget.
Congratulations to Mariza and My!
