The Number One Mistake Brides Make When it Comes to Accessories

More is more when it comes to accessorising for your wedding. Or are we meant to heed the advice of Coco Chanel and always remove a jewel before we head out the door? When we saw the beautiful European Princess photoshoot featuring lavish Zian Couture gowns and statement Jeanette Maree Accessories, we knew we’d find the answer.

“The most common mistake brides make is buying accessories they like the look of without considering the overall appearance they’re trying create for their wedding. I’ve seen many brides bring an item in that they love, but it just doesn’t work with their dress,” says Jeanette Maree.

The European Princess photoshoot she’s exclusively shared with Wedded Wonderland celebrates a traditional European wedding style, without sacrificing a distinct Australian twist. “A bride is snapped at every angle these days so you want to have all the bases covered,’’ she says, which is why the inspiring shoot features trending headpieces such as vine headbands – worn either at the front or back of the head for a casual, soft look – and crystal crowns that are having a resurgence.

How to find the right accessory

According to Jeanette Maree, a bride’s personal style, dress, venue, hairstyle and time of year all play a factor in choosing the right accessories, and should be taken into consideration. “Nothing is more important than trying pieces on. You can look at items online or in a store, but until you try them on your just guessing. It’s important to see the size and quality of a piece, how to wear it and how it will work with your dress,’’ she adds.
