The Couture Bride Club: 8 Celebrity Brides Who Did Bridalwear Their Way

From Dua Lipa’s Chanel masterpiece to Gabbriette’s Matières Fécales reinvention, these are the celebrity brides who proved that the best wedding dresses are the ones that could only belong to one bride.

There are wedding dresses, and then there are wedding dresses.

The kind that take hundreds of hours, multiple fittings, obsessive attention to proportion and a designer who is willing to rethink every tiny detail around the woman wearing it. In 2026, a particularly stylish group of brides decided that a beautiful dress simply wasn't enough. They wanted something that felt unmistakably theirs.

Welcome to The Couture Bride Club.

From global pop stars and supermodels to actors, entrepreneurs and fashion girls with a very clear point of view, these brides turned the aisle into their own fashion moment. And while the word "couture" can conjure images of elaborate ball gowns and endless embellishment, this year's best bridal looks proved that couture is really about something more personal: craftsmanship, creativity and making a dress that could not simply be pulled from a rack and worn by somebody else.

Here are the brides who made our 2026 list.

Dua Lipa in Chanel

If there was a bride capable of making an entrance feel like a full-scale fashion event, it was always going to be Dua Lipa.

For her Sicilian wedding to Callum Turner, Lipa wore a custom Chanel gown created by Matthieu Blazy, his first bespoke wedding dress for the house. The backless mermaid silhouette was covered in intricate embroidery, beading and jewelled detailing, while the dramatic veil and feather-covered train brought the full fashion fantasy. Vogue reported that the creation involved an astonishing 1,155 hours of work.

It was glamorous, undeniably Dua and just dramatic enough to feel worthy of a pop star wedding.

Ming Xi in Dior

Ming Xi didn't just have a couture wedding dress moment. She had an entire couture wedding wardrobe.

For her historic wedding to Mario Ho at Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey in Normandy, the supermodel wore a custom Dior gown created with Jonathan Anderson. The dress featured a structured silhouette, long sleeves, floral detailing and a beautifully draped open back.

And because apparently one spectacular look wasn't enough, Xi also wore Dior for her welcome celebrations before changing into a vintage Chanel pearl dress and a Givenchy look later in the festivities.

The result? A wedding wardrobe that felt less like dressing for one event and more like creating a fashion story across an entire weekend.

Tallulah Willis in Balenciaga

Tallulah Willis' bridal journey may have started with scrolling Etsy, but it ended with Balenciaga.

For her August wedding to Justin Acee in Sun Valley, Idaho, Willis wore a custom gown created by Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. The dress reportedly required 712 hours of work, including fittings and alterations, while the veil took an additional nine hours.

It's the sort of bridal transformation we love. One minute you're casually browsing dresses online, the next you're wearing a one-of-a-kind Balenciaga creation on your wedding day.

Urassaya Sperbund in Louis Vuitton

Thai actress and Louis Vuitton ambassador Urassaya Sperbund brought her long-standing relationship with the fashion house into her wedding wardrobe.

For her Norwegian wedding to Nadech Kugimiya, Sperbund wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown featuring intricate thread embroidery across white tulle, with thousands of pearls and tiny crystal beads hand-applied to the lace-like motifs.

She also wore a second custom Louis Vuitton look for the celebration, with reports putting the combined craftsmanship across her two looks at more than 3,800 hours.

The result was romantic without feeling overly traditional, which feels very Yaya.

Gabbriette in Matières Fécales

Gabbriette was never going to give us a conventional bridal moment.

For her wedding to Matty Healy, the model and musician became the first bride for Matières Fécales, the Paris-based label founded by Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran. Rather than asking the brand to make her look like a traditional bride, she let its surreal, rebellious design language come straight into the wedding.

Her bridal wardrobe included three custom looks, beginning with a reconstructed vintage Martin Margiela gown, followed by a hand-pleated silk taffeta dress and a white leather suit for the after-party.

It was weird, romantic, fashion-forward and completely Gabbriette. In other words, exactly what a couture wedding look should be.

Désiré Duplantis in Idalanto Couture

Désiré Duplantis brought a more classic interpretation of couture bridalwear to the club with her Idalanto Couture wedding gown.

The look demonstrated why couture works so beautifully for weddings. The appeal isn't simply in having a designer name attached to the dress. It's in the opportunity to create something around the bride, from the silhouette and proportions to the finishing details.

Her Idalanto look felt like a reminder that couture can be romantic and timeless without looking predictable.

Emma Roberts in Monique Lhuillier

Emma Roberts' wedding wardrobe was practically a masterclass in making tradition feel personal.

For her July wedding to Cody John in Idaho, Roberts wore a custom Monique Lhuillier gown in a custom "Vintage Rose" shade rather than straightforward bridal white. The dress featured sculpted corsetry, hand-draped silk chiffon, delicate lace and a dramatic slit, and was designed to transform into multiple looks throughout the evening.

Lhuillier also created Roberts' black reception look, inspired by the designer's 2004 collection.

The bride wanted something with an antique, almost ghostly quality, and the final result felt romantic without being overly sweet. Very Emma Roberts.

Jordyn Woods in Danielle Frankel

Jordyn Woods understood the assignment: why have one couture moment when you can have three?

For her Malibu wedding to Karl-Anthony Towns, Woods collaborated with Danielle Frankel on three custom bridal looks. Her ceremony gown was a strapless silk-wool ball gown with a sculpted bodice, full skirt and hand-cut Chantilly and corded lace appliqués.

For the reception, she changed into a romantic lace gown with an asymmetric draped detail and coordinating bolero. Her welcome-party look went in a more streamlined direction, with a silk satin silhouette and dramatic scarf detail.

The genius was in the progression. Each dress had its own personality, but the entire wardrobe still felt unmistakably Jordyn.

What Makes a Couture Bride?

If there is one thing this year's Couture Bride Club makes clear, it's that couture isn't necessarily about making the biggest dress in the room.

It's about making the right dress.

Dua's Chanel was spectacular. Gabbriette's Matières Fécales looks were deliberately unconventional. Emma Roberts went vintage and slightly unexpected, while Jordyn Woods built an entire wardrobe around different moments of her celebration. Urassaya used couture to deepen her connection with Louis Vuitton, and Ming Xi treated her wedding weekend like a fashion editorial.

There is no single couture bride. And that's precisely the point.

The best custom wedding dresses feel like an extension of the woman wearing them, rather than a costume she has been told a bride is supposed to wear.

Finding Your Couture Wedding Dress

The dream of a one-of-a-kind wedding dress doesn't have to mean choosing a celebrity fashion house. What matters is finding a designer who understands your personal style and can translate it into something made specifically for you.

A custom gown can mean changing a neckline, developing a fabric, incorporating a sentimental detail, reworking a vintage reference or creating an entirely new silhouette from scratch. The possibilities are much more interesting when the dress starts with you.

Planning Your Own Couture Wedding Look?

A wedding dress should feel like more than a beautiful thing you happen to wear. It should feel like your dress, from the first sketch to the final fitting.

Wedded Concierge connects you with trusted bridal designers and wedding experts who can help bring a highly personalised vision to life. Whether you're dreaming of a couture gown, a custom reception look or an entire wedding wardrobe, the right designer can turn the idea in your head into something you can actually walk down the aisle in.
