There is a certain kind of prenup video that feels like it was assembled from a checklist: pretty location, dramatic dress, drone shot, slow walk, kiss, repeat. Gorgeous? Sure. Memorable? That is another question.
Then there is Rei Germar and Migy Romulo’s.
The longtime couple recently gave us a glimpse of their Iceland prenup, and what makes it work is not just the scenery, although Iceland is doing plenty of heavy lifting there. It is the fact that the video actually feels like them.
There is humour, a little chaos, a very specific song choice, their closest friends behind the camera and a general sense that they were not trying to manufacture a cinematic love story because they were already living one.
And honestly, that might be the biggest prenup lesson of all.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting that. But when everyone has access to the same cinematic presets, destination locations and slow-motion transitions, the thing that makes a prenup memorable is no longer how expensive it looks.
It is whether you can tell who the couple is. Rei and Migy understood the assignment.
Their Iceland trip already had the makings of an incredible travel film. The couple travelled around Iceland's Ring Road in a campervan, chasing the country's famously long summer daylight and stopping at mountains, waterfalls and fields of purple lupines. Rei later teased the experience on Instagram with the caption, "Somewhere between the cold and the quiet, I found forever with you."
But the actual prenup video takes the idea somewhere much more personal.
Let's get the obvious out of the way: Iceland is an unfairly good backdrop.
The couple's visuals feature the kind of landscapes that make you wonder whether someone forgot to turn the saturation down. Massive waterfalls, rugged mountains, open roads and endless summer light create a backdrop that could easily turn any couple into the protagonists of an arthouse romance.
But Rei and Migy's video does not feel like a tourism campaign.
That distinction matters.
Instead of letting the location become the entire personality of the shoot, the couple allowed their relationship to sit at the centre of it. The scenery is spectacular, but it is there to frame them rather than overshadow them.
And that is exactly what a good prenup should do.
Perhaps the smallest detail is one of the best.
Rei revealed that they had already decided on the song before they even filmed the video. They borrowed a piece of "Kahel Na Langit" by Maki, specifically before the lyrics become sad.
The little aside, complete with a playful "hehe," immediately tells you something about the couple.
They were not sitting around trying to select the most universally romantic wedding song on a mood board. They picked something they genuinely liked, then built the video around it.
That is personality.
And it is a reminder that your prenup soundtrack does not need to be the obvious choice. It can be a song that makes you laugh, one you listened to during a particular era of your relationship, or something that only makes sense to the two of you.
The best soundtrack might not make sense to anyone else. It just needs to make sense to you.
Another detail that makes the video particularly charming is how Rei described the production.
There was no huge production team or elaborate glam squad. Instead, their friends helped capture the moment.
"Just the bestest friends who helped us capture this moment," she wrote.
It sounds simple, but it completely changes the energy of the video.
There is something inherently different about having people behind the camera who actually know you. They know the weird jokes. They know when a smile is genuine. They know what you look like when you are trying not to laugh.
That familiarity can translate into photographs and film that feel less like a performance.
And perhaps that is why Rei and Migy's video feels intimate despite being beautifully produced.
Ironically, the best way to make a prenup video feel cinematic might be to stop trying so hard to make it cinematic.
Rei and Migy's shoot works because it has a clear visual world, but it also has a point of view. The campervan road trip, the Icelandic landscapes, the song, the friends and the couple's own sense of humour all belong to the same story.
It feels less like, Here is our prenup, and more like, Here is a little piece of our life together.
That is a much more interesting thing to preserve.
The same principle can apply whether you are shooting in Iceland or at the place where you had your first date. Your prenup could be fashion-forward, documentary-style, goofy, nostalgic, intimate or wildly dramatic. It could even look nothing like a traditional prenup.
The important thing is that it has a point of view.
This might be the most underrated part of the whole thing.
A prenup video is ultimately a record of a relationship. So why should every frame be universally understandable?
Maybe there is a song that only the two of you associate with a specific memory. Maybe you always eat at the same restaurant. Maybe you have a ridiculous shared hobby. Maybe your version of romance involves getting lost on road trips and laughing about it.
Put it in the video.
Years from now, you probably will not remember whether the shot had the perfect transition. You will remember the tiny things that made the video feel like you.
The couple's prenup comes after a relationship that has already had plenty of chapters. Rei and Migy have been together since 2014, and Migy proposed in March 2025 during a beach proposal in Australia after years together.
So their Iceland shoot is not the beginning of their story. It is another chapter.
That is perhaps why the video does not need to work overtime to convince anyone that they are in love.
The chemistry is already there.
The Iceland backdrop simply gives it somewhere beautiful to live.
There will always be beautiful prenup trends worth borrowing. Editorial portraits, destination shoots, film photography, dramatic fashion and breathtaking landscapes can all make for incredible imagery.

For Rei and Migy, the answer was a road trip through Iceland, a song they loved, their closest friends and a little bit of humour. It did not need a massive production to become memorable.
